Would you use Comptech springs if they were new and $100 ???
Would you use Comptech springs if they were new and $100 ???
I have read all the posts (not many) and it seems like they are a tiny bit stiffer and lower then stock.
But I have not seen anyone confirm the spring rates, would anyone have the rates?
Now back to my question... would you use them if they only cost $100 for new ones ?
The reason why I'm asking... I think my stock springs are getting a little old and saggy.

I've got them, actually came with the car and I never could tell they were aftermarket springs
Thats how minor the drop is, looks stock. I don't even think its the 3/4 inch as stated on their site, its even less. Nothing but
from me as they work very well.

Comptech was a sponsor of theirs and for their GT NSX too but the springs and rates were completely different.
Rumor did have it at one time that Comptech springs were just rebadged Eibach springs sold at a premium.
Rob, from what I can find:
Comptech Sport spring:
Rate: F-335 R-135-210
Drop: F-1.25 R-1.25
F-linear R- progressive

I wouldn't be inclined to. And knowing how you drive, I wouldn't see them much of an upgrade that you might appreciate.
I'd save up and do a full suspension or nothing.

I think your shocks would be suffering more than the springs.

This is a good point

that's for the honesty. One reason I am thinking the springs are sagging is the weight of the sound system... another reason is the car sits for months at a time then the big reason, NYC roads suck big time.
I was only looking to put new springs in and that was about it... I have no need or desire to install a coil-over suspension in the R cause of the reasons listed above- I'd hate myself if I bent or broke a 1200+ suspension part
I guess I'll pass on them..

I bought some tein s-tech springs once for the exact same reason.
Why? Stock wheelgap = t3h sux.
Besides, you can always sell them for the same $ without losing much in the process...
And you can enjoy a mild upgrade in performance.
Later on if you want more, you can put them on koni yellows for cheap and with the konis on the lower perch you will have quite a substantial drop. Bilstein also has two perch heights as well, iirc.....
Get them.

bingo, or at the very least I would get a stiffer set of springs with the same F/R ratio as stock... if you got the comptechs, you'd plow all over...which isnt so bad if you enjoy going in hot and then lifting off throttle

Tom your saying the spring rates are different then stock in the front for it to plow?

I wouldn't buy them because it would put me out of D Stock.
Funny you bring this up because I've been thinking the same thing about my springs. I guess they are going on eight years old.

I think you should buy them and maybe try selling and get some more money for them. If your stocks are sagging some, then maybe you should be lookinginto replaces shocksand springs. So if I was you, I would just buy and sell. Good luck.
