The CRX's reconstruction
Well since everyone else seems to have a thread talking about their CRX's build-up, I figured I would do mine.
On Valentine's Day last month, my CRX was in an accident. Three teenagers playing on the highway on their bikes jumped out in the path of me in my car when I was getting into the exit lane. I had the choice to either hit the punks on bikes or swerve and hit another car instead. Obviously I chose to hit the car. The entire front end of my CRX was demolished, the CF hood, the radiator, the bumper, everything. The fenders got a little messed up too. Of course since I hit the other car, it was my fault in the insurance company's eyes.
So now I am restoring her. That is the reason for this thread I guess to show progress over time.
Well first I need to replace the part called the "front bulkhead." That would be number 5 on this picture.
After that, I need to buy a C&R radiator or a fluidyne, because I am going turbo eventually this summer. I'm really considering the Full Race kit and their equal length manifold; if you guys have any better ideas for a mostly highway driven car, chime in with your opinion. Anyways, we have already built the other engine (for turbo), which has the following so far:
B18A non-OBD
* port and polish
* ferrea valves
* ARP head studs
* Crower titanium retainers & dual valve springs
* AEM cam gears
* bored, darton sleeves and honing
* JE pistons
* scat rods
* polished crank
* seals, SCE gaskets, oil pumps, blah blah etc
As soon as I get the CRX street legal again with headlights and stuff, I am taking the car over to my friends and we will put that other engine in since he has all of the goodies to do it there, unlike me. A couple other things that need to be taken care of are the left quarter panel, the alignment, and the paint. Also, I plan on having the rear interior covered with a layer of Line-X or Rhino liner. One last thing I am looking for is a B16 transmission.
Here is what the CRX looks like as of now. I have purchased most of the front end for her, but I am being held back right now by the "bulkhead" piece because I don't have it.

Where are you getting that "front bulkhead" parts and the other parts in the picture? I didn't know you could purchase those and I need them as well. The previous owner of my CRX was a moron and tried to push another car and he crushed in those front parts!
I am going to try to get them from the dealer *gasp* That is where I got that picture, off of an online diagram from a Honda dealer here. If I can't purchase those parts through a dealer, then my other option would be to go to a junkyard with my grinder and start goin' to town LOL

I just called them, they were going to order it for me but I don't have the cash right now LOL For that entire front bulkhead, #5 on the exploded pic, it is $295. So it looks like I am going to be getting that next paycheck. SCORE! I can't wait to have her on the road again.
Oh, and here was the Honda part number for it: 60400-SH2-A11ZZ

I have that #5 piece. it comes as one piece except for #'s 6,7,8 and of course the bolts. I may have 6,7,8 also. I have to look in the garage. The #5 piece is brand new and has never been mounted on the car. I will let the #5 piece go for 100 + shipping. I have vouches. My only concern is that this was for a 91 hatch, not CRX. I do not see why it would not fit but I would advise you to research it first. IM me if you or the other dude is interested. These threads move to damn fast to keep track off. Or you can call my cell

duane oh duane... i feel bad for her. but look on the bright side you'll be alot of those damn people in there "fast" cars in oakley when your done. t.r.s..... GET DONE FASTER.
Here are a couple more things that I am going to use soon on the CRX. The rest of the Energy suspension components are at my friend's house already.
To those who have installed these already, how difficult is this going to be to put these on my CRX? I have heard that I need to heat each piece first so that they are a little easier to get in. Is that true? Thanks
