Be sure to check to make sure there are no vacuum leaks at any of the manifold flanges either.

sounds like the fitv to me too.. i have the jdm b18c & just had the same problem. it's under your throttle body.. take it off and becareful of the hose that goes from the iacv to the fitv.. it will spill tons of coolant everywhere if you take it off without clamping it. you probably need to tighten the fitv and youll be ok

i had the exact same problem and i cleaned the IAC valve PCV valve and still did nothing. so i was just checking all the vaccum lines and i found a leak what do you know. that would be my suggestion to you. check all the lines. good luck

well i checked all the vaccum lines and no leaks they are all good i think it might be the fitv but i switched throttle bodies cuz i had an ls lying around and it did the same thing idk ill check the fitv i mean if it was a vaccum leak the check engine light would not come on so it has to be something mechanical!

in addition to vacuum leaks, chck your iacv on the back of your intake manifold might have been damaged while being shipped to you

Sounds like an intake manifold leak for sure. Use starting spray while the car is running and squirt it around the intake manifold & throttle body if at anytime it revs up quickly check it again in that area, if it does it again you found your leak. Also check all the Vac lines.

last time i saw this happen it was a leak at the i/m flange and another was on the TB from using the wrong gasket.

with it idling and the intake tube off reac in the thottle body and plug the port it the bottom with your finger. if it idles normal and stops surging its the fitv. When i was poor i just plugged that port till i could afford a new one.

Did you screw the FITV all the way in? If it helped at all ******* with it, I would guess that would be the problem.

I had the same problem wit my prelude, try screwing the idle screw IN to lower the idle a bit, I tried all the valves and stuff and none ofit worked and it turned out to be such a simple thing like the idle screw

dude, it's probably your shitty chipped P28.

I had some cold idling problems, checked everything, was driving me crazy.

Turns out it was a shitty chip burned from Uberdata for my 96 obd2 gsr running skunk2 manifold and obd1 to obd2 harness and a chipped P28.

I redid the chip with Crome, idles perfect!

I am pretty sure if you checked everything, run a stock ECU, if it idles fine, it is that shitty chip in your P28, burn another with Crome, worked for me.

For some reason Uberdata didnt work good for me, might be cause I am obd2.

If I am right, PM me back your Thanks!
