"Honda Trade Secrets"
I looked back in one of my old issues of Honda Tuning and found a few things that may be useful to some of the viewers.
1. 1990-1997 Integra B18A (non-Vtec) rods can be used in Sohc D16 engines.
Rods purchased from junkyard around $100 for complete set.
This isn't a direct bolt in! The small end of the bore of the rod must be re-sized
by re-bushing the bore to accept the smaller pin of the Civic engine.
On the big end, the rod needs to be lathed to Civic-Spec thickness.
This set can handle up to 300Hp at the wheels.
Machine work runs about $100 for the set. Total cost around $200 for the set
Half of the price of the aftermarket brands.
2. You could option to use a set of 1986-1989 Integra rods in your sohc D16
they just bolt right in,using the Integra rod bearings. These will support up to
225Hp.Caution not all the rods from 86-89 were thicker than the stock ones
make sure you get the thick ones to ensure the correct durability!
3. A piston possibility is installing 1986-1989 Integra Slugs(pistons) into 88and up
Civic or CRX D16 engine. The bore sizes of the two blocks are practically
identical and the dome design of the Integra pistons generate a 3/4 point jump
in compression.
4. If you are running forced induction or nitrous, you can replace your stock head
gasket with a metal gasket from a 92 and up Civic SI or EX.The stock gaskets
are prone to burning and cracking.
Any ways may be this can help a few people!

thats good info only if you want your engine to be as strong as the parts you took it from its not gonna strengthen your engine that much you might as well just buy good stuff like forged rods and pistons for instance if you use the integra rods your d16 is only gonna be as strong as the integra engine.
