Default How would you prefer gauges to be mounted?

I will be selling my car come spring and I am doing a little house cleaning in the interior. I am wondering what the majority of people prefer....

I currently have my 3 gauges (Oil temp, Oil Pressure, Coolant Temp) located above the stock radio. It keeps the car looking a little less blingy from the outside (don't know if that really applies how the car already looks!). However, the downside is, the gauges are not in your line of sight while driving.

I am considering mounting them on the pillar, however I really find triple pillar mounted gauges look quite tacky. I think 2 is the only way to go, and thus I would probably have to ditch coolant temp.

I now seek the opinion of h-t... Below is a picture of the 3 gauges setup as they are currently...

The majority feel that it should be form over function?

either that or on the corners of your cluster bezel. you want them to be easily visible while you drive aggressively. otherwise, they're just for show

I really like sleeper cars, so in the radio and in the cig tray is good. Another place I have found is your cupholders, or in the accord, the space under the cd player to store CDs in.

Anyplace where its visible and I think it's kinda lame...i like them built in and hidden for a good sleeper look...

Another idea is a pod on the steering column...

Yea but with the gauges he has, those aren't ones that require you too really monitor while your driving aggressivlely, like say a boost gauge or something like that.

is your car really on the fritz to need them in eye of sight? i mean, you can look down

that's where it's at. easy to stuff in there, and works.

When you have gauges like EGT, Boost, Oil pressure you do need them in the line of sight because it would be stupid to have to check your cupholders to know your egt/boost. But when its just a volt gauge, it is ok

i have gauges that require monitering and i also happen to have them mounted low and i have no problem with it. It takes not a second to see read the boost gauge and fuel pressure doesnt need to be looked at every 3 seconds.
I think peolpe like to put gauges on the pillar because they think its cool.all things considered(viewing/thieft/funtion/ease of install),there are better places to mount them

I agree they definately look good, but I am more concerned for the future owner who will most definately track the car, and in any sort of lapping situation I think 100% line of sight is more of a priority.... I'd have to say I'm surprised with the outcome of the poll!

Put them in the dash divot or a dual pillar pod w/oil pressure and water temp....
