your gears affect the gas milage more than the SC

It obviously varies. I've gotten 31 mpg on the road, but the last time it hit 1/2 a tank, I hadn't 100 on my trip odometer! But take into consideration that later that day the warning light on the gas gauge came on, I only could put in 10.1 gallons!

i finally got to enjoy my car today. got cloudy warm weather about 60 degrees. i had the top down and was just coasting on the highway to the mall. i decided to just push it, to see how what this baby can do. When i looked down i was already at 105 ... so i decided to slow down. i had a half tank at the start of the day now i'm down to a 1/4 .... at least i enjoyed it, i think i'm going to try shell's gas to see if i can get better mpg

if you plan on supercharging, no 4.77's. its overkill. if you're going NA, 4.77 is fine

depending on how i drive i get between 200-260

highway driving of course gets you better gas milage then stop & go traffic...stayin in high rpm's doesnt help either

also...the gas gauge sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can ride on empty for a long time...sometimes the gas gauge gets 2 more bars when on E....and when i fill up the max i have ever gotten is 11.8 gallons...is this normal??

we have a 13.2 gallon tank. our "reserve" is 3 gallons so your fuel light comes on when you have 3 gallons left (roughly). its somewhere in the manual. i tested this out by driving 45 miles with no bars and wound up filling up 12.6 gallons

i don't recommend doing this but going 20 miles or so after your fuel light comes on is no biggie, i do this all the time

Before I was getting almost exactly 200-210 mpg doing mostly city driving. Now before you guys go WTF?, I most definitely have a "lead" left foot and I rev-match alot. This really does alot to screw up my gas mileage.

The most miles I have driven on a tank of gas was 320 miles. It was mostly highway driving and not much city driving. Ever since I started driving I've always been under the impression that it wasn't a good idea to drive with the fuel pickup sucking gas from the bottom of the tank. So when the light comes on with two bars left I will go fill up.

wrong! your right foot affects gas mileage.

A shorter final drive, SC and turbo will actually improve gas mileage at partial throttle (ie freeway cruising).

However, when making more power from a turbo or SC, you'll burn more fuel at WOT when compared to a stock setup running shorter gears. Make more power, burn more fuel.

How so? With gears even at partial throttle cruising, your in a higher rpm range than stock, using more gas. My freeway gas mileage is the same as my city. When I went to Pittsburg with everyone, I had to stop one more tme for gas than everyone else. Even John driving real slow had to stop an extra time because of his gears and s/c. Nishant you remember, you left the slow group for ours. lol

i had no gas problems. i am getting 27-28 mpg on the highway instead of 30-31. but overall with my daily driving, i am actually getting better mileage with my gears. i used to avg about 20-22. now i am at 22-24mpg with the 4.77
