Custom DC2 spoiler & splitter....
Just about finished and the bumper is getting a fresh coat of paint next week but haven't made the cut for the header yet...

The spoiler is made from two pieces of aluminum with a 90° bend at the bottom and 45° notches equally spaced to make the curves. Simply riveted to a stock 94-97 bumper...

The splitter is alumilite [1/8" sheet of plastic/nylon sandwiched between two 1/16" sheets of aluminum] Punched holes in the notched tabs on the spoiler and then punched the holes accordingly on the splitter....bolted together with a stainless steel button-head allen bolt.

The splitter protrudes out 1/2" in the front and approx. 1" at the corners, much more than that and it would create too much downforce....at 90mph on a Del Sol with 1,250 lb. springs on the front it was bottoming out the suspension with a 1.5" lip...I'm only running 500+lb springs on my integra so I'd rather play it safe.

Still debating on whether I want to install the stainless steel mesh grill or not and thinking about fabricating some lense covers so the entire bumper is smooth and practically seamless [might just look a little too ghetto/ricey though]

I think the seamless covers sound great...better than applying tape everytime you go auto-x-n. I may look into making myself some.
it looks good by the way. how much does that alumilite stuff go for?

how fast are the auto-xs where you live? you tape up **** for drag at auto-x ? lol
does look nice though, do you tune the DF just by seeing if it bottoms out?

Can only fit one 1 Integra and 2 Del Sol splitters on one sheet but can get 4 Del Sols (the integra bumper is wider and deeper)

As for tuning, I'm just working off the trial and error R&D of the race team that's been running that same car since '98...of course it's not the same vehicle or same suspension setup but it's better than starting from scratch.
I've been designing a full underbody tray for my car too that goes all the way back from the splitter to a custom diffuser built into the oem rear bumper...something you don't see everyday on an Integra. I tend to lean more towards function than looks but have no idea if it would have any aerodynamic benefits or may just end up being too heavy to be worthwhile... My plan incorporates rectangular cutouts down the center with stainless mesh layed on top of the holes so it still looks seamless but allows airflow...hopefully out and not in. Should be able to play around with small spoilers (like a miniature upside down version of the plastic piece on a sunroof). Who knows, may just need a full stainless exhaust and simply wrap it all the way back.

I could always polish it! lol

Still have to trim the corners, planned to do that when I make the cutout for the header...

*EDIT*
oh yeah, in case anyone is wondering about the black spray paint on the back...that's how I marked the holes for the splitter [I just didn't bother wiping it off the spoiler] It was a good idea at the time but because of the angle I had to hold the spray can it didn't work too well...didn't feel like cutting a good marker in half so it would fit so I used a 90° pick and marked an x in every other hole.
I punched every tab before realizing that it would be really stupid and pointless to hold it together with that many screws....hey, i probably saved 0.1 ounces by punching out those extra holes!

DOOOOD...
thanks for the idear, i like how you joined the upper and lower, i'm gonna do the same for my bumper project. Where did you get that sheet of metal, biggest thing i could find was 24x24.
looks really good thow,

I want to do that for my GSX if I don't sell it... That lip is bad *** and rugged. Good Work!
What gauge sheet metal are you using for the splitter? Also was wondering where you bought it from?
^^ Bump for some sick ****.

Still working on getting the OEM Optional sides, until then you'll have to wait for full body shots :-P Still not sure if i like the center [grill] being all white, if not I'll just spray it black....

I think there are too many nuts and bolts though. They must add up to a good amount of weight!
Have you considered switching over to vinyl/plastic nuts and bolts? Corrosion free and lightweight at the same time
