Default Speed Sensor Wiring?

Hey guys, I need some help. I've got a 96 Civic Speed Sensor (VSS) that I'm putting into my 88 CRX Si. I don't have the harness clip that plugs into the VSS, just the VSS itself. What I would like to know is which wires go to which pins on the VSS.

I know the wires consist of the Power, Signal, & Ground. I just need to know which one goes where.

Here is a diagram of the VSS. This is looking down at the VSS into the socket.

Thanks for the help,
James

Hey, thanks for the fast reply.

I'm having trouble removing the old Speed Sensor from my stock 88 CRX Si tranny. I can get the cable out, but the actual assembly won't budge. I've removed the 10mm bolt, ...so is there something I have to do in order to remove the original speed sensor?

Thanks for the help,
James

yeah, i think...

on my VSS ('83 prelude) it has a pin that springs out to hold the sensor in the tranny case when you insert the line. (this sensor fits on hte JDM B16A tranny no problems...)

maybe that pin hasnt popped out? dont break it!

try inserting the line again to release the pin?

(if im wrong about the pin it's just a guess...)

t..

There is nothing but friction/oxidation and the 14-year old o-ring holding the VSS in your tranny. Try bathing it in some sort of penetrating fluid. With the bolt removed (10mm head you refered to), there are no additional fasteners.

Okay...thanks TJ. I didn't think there was anything else... but damn, that thing is stuck. I'll give it a try tomorrow sometime.

Thanks
