i thought the LS cams were more aggressive than the B20, and i think you would be able to get b20 pistons at the honda dealership. They come in like the 2000-2003 CRVs i might be wrong though.

b18a had 58 mm tb and b18b have 60. are you sure that the b18a cams are better then the b20's?

B18b Cams are slightly more aggressive, but not enough to really notice a difference.

if you can get the parts for cheap or free, cams and intake manifold. all crv b20's get 60mm throttle body. the intake manifold, however, is crap, and LS ones are very very cheap and WAY better. do it like yesterday!

as for cams, there is decent gain to be had, and they are, of course, cheap [or free], but you need to know what engine you're talking about. the 97-98 CRV [B20B] had an intake cam with 0.3mm less lift than 99-00 CRV [B20Z] and any 92-01 RS/LS/GS/SE integra [B18B]. the exhaust cams for B20B, B20Z, and LS are all the same.

so basically, if the head is from an integra '92 or later, swap in the intake manifold, at least. i'm assuming you have the early B20 (B20B), since you are looking for B20Z pistons. therefore, go with the LS intake cam as well. it will help some, but not as much as aftermarket cams would. however, when do you get a cam upgrade for $10? practically all it costs is your time. also, check what computer you're running. B20B redline is 6200, B20Z is 6700, and LS is 6900. just remember, computer, intake manifold, intake cam, and pistons are the only changes that netted 20 more hp out of the B20Z, and you can get 2 of those things for really cheap.

by the way, B20's all [CRV B20's only] have the same oil pump as GS-R. LS water pump, though.

thanks for all the info. i went to the honda dealership to see how much the b20z pistons are and, they are only $194 but the guy in the parts departments builds and tunes hondas, he told me that i should save and jus buy aftermarket. i really dont have to much money and suck at saving. do you guys think that runnin b20z pistons and milling a bit off the head and block would get me some good number for cheap? i saw that omniman got like 10.7:1 cr out of a b20 wit phk pistons. does anyone know what the numbers were on that car. i know its b20-vtec but jus wonderin. thanks for all the help

Actually 92-93 teg's are B18A1 motors. The 94 was the first year w/ the B18B. I have heard that the intake manifold nets some good gains on the B20's though. I would definitely do this upgrade .

Just save $300-400 and get some aftermarket Pistons, b/c you will spend another $90 on OEM rings anyway. Check out the endyne rollerwave pistons at http://www.theoldone.com

just check out importperformanceparts.net and see if they have the pistons, made by topline to OEM specs. they go for about $150/set with rings.

actually, whatever code they are, they have 140hp, indicating the change has already been made to the larger camshafts and manifold, as well as some port changes in the cylinder head. and yes, definitely get that manifold quick. best $20 you'll ever spend on this car!
