Default HKS Manifold/GT3071R-WG/GT-elbow

These are pics of the HKS RSX-S cast turbo manifold with a Garrett GT3071R-WG .86 AR and aftermarket SR20DET GT-style 5-bolt flanged, divorced turbo elbow/O2 extension.

Don't mind the little dings on the compressor housing, the cover can be replaced without affecting the center section balance.

Look how it was packed:

It should've been centered better, you can see where the housing broke the cardboard while it shifted in transit or warehousing.

The elbow almost works, but you know what they say... no cigar. The 3-bolt flange is too close to the inner CV joint. We're going to rework the piece, or just build one from scratch with this flange:

The 4" compressor inlet is going to be tricky, but we'll get an intake on it. If the CN manifold placement is close to where the HKS places this one, we may be able to get something that fits both applications.

We're starting with an internally stock RSX-S, so boost levels will be kept to moderate levels isolating the turbo kit for a good indication as to how it stacks against others on the market. After that, we're going to upgrade to 3bar map, fuel pump and injectors along the way while testing various cams: stock, ITR and aftermarket.

That's the plan anyway. I'm sure we'll be seeing some curveballs shortly.

Hell yes, Ron, that looks badass.

BTW, I see the liquid enthusiasm in the background on that last pic.

So how does the wastegate setup work on that? Nothing external that I can see, but no vacuum/rod actuator outside the snail either.

Never seen one like that. Anbody wanna fill me in?

Ron told me on a separate occasion that this was an internally wastegated turbo (hence the WG in the name). I am sure he just has the acuator off right now.

Yep, internally gated - actuator not installed in those pics.

I posted on clubrsx. But that dent is really annoying. I can see why you'd want another one. I can't wait to see the dyno. I'm hoping for a nice torque curve.

It's internally wastegated, built into the exhaust housing. A flapper door bleeds off excess boost with an actuator and will be controlled by a dual solenoid Blitz SBC id III.

Default Last leg of IC piping

Since we didn't start out with the complete Greddy turbo kit, we needed to fab the missing IC segment that couples with the throttle body.

IC plumbing is now complete.
