Does the TSX's i-vtec head spool on both cams?
I have a question. Does the TSX i-vtec head spool vtec on both cams? Many people have told me that all the k series motors have DOHC but the vtec only spools on the intake cam. The only exception is the rsx type S head. On the type S it spools both sides. Does the TSX spool both sides? I've heard rumors that only the Type S spools both sides vtec, and question if the tsx spools dual side vtec.
WTF is all this "spool" ****? It's not a friggin turbine . . .

All K series motors only have VTC sprockets on only the intake side. This mechanism adjusts cam phase relative to the crankshaft. Hopefully honda will add exhaust side VTC in the future.

No, there are two types of variable valve technology in production cars, multiprofile cams and cam phasing.
Classic VTEC is more or less a multiprofile cam system, which the TSX has on both intake and exhaust side.
VTC/cam phasing adjusts cam phase relative to the crankshaft and the TSX only has this on the intake side.

I believe the original poster was asking about the VTEC, not the VTC. Yes, all K series motors have VTC on the intake side only, but NOT all of them have the "classic" VTEC on both the intake and exhaust sides. Take a look at the K series motors found in a base RSX, a Civic Si, and any of the K24's in the Accord, they only have the "classic" VTEC on the intake side only. In the North American market, only the RSX TypeS and the TSX have the "classic" VTEC on both intake and exhaust side.

yes, thank you. That is exactly what i was asking. I am wondering how the tsx was because i knew for a fact that only the RSX type S had the classic vtec running on both cams. I am considering buying a tsx, but wasnt sure how the tsx ran vtec wise. Thanks
