clutch has two engagement points??
I dont know if any of you guys with cable trannies have experienced this before, but i have in a few different efs. Sometimes while driving, the clutch (dis?)engagement point changes.
In my hatch, it usually catches were it is suppose to near the top, but sometimes it grabs way down low like an inch off the floor. So sometimes i stall or i can save it. So now i am starting to ride the clutch in case it does come in way early.
Anybody know why this is happening? or ever have it happen to them?

i thought i was the only one....
It happens to me every once and a while... i think my cable is binding every so often causing the pedal enguagment to change.
it doesn't bother me enough to attempt to fix it yet, but when i do the first thing to get changed will be the cable.

My '91 DX was doing that for a while before I pulled the old drivetrain out and replaced it with better stuff. When I pulled the transmission off the engine, a couple of the clutch disk springs fell out on the floor. Seems they like to work their way loose and mess with the engagement a bit. I had an Integra a few years back that actually lost its clutch due to one of those damn springs wandering... it got lodged between the clutch disk and the flywheel surface, and the clutch became utterly useless. I got it home with rolling stops and rev-matching the shifts.
If your clutch engagement is changing, start preparing yourself for the time and expense of a clutch replacement.

This two point engagement may be caused by the release bearing piviot shaft binding. Few people check this easy to remove, clean and relubricate shaft. With the transmission out, remove the bolt holding the release bearing frok to the shaft. Then pull the shaft out of the side of the bell housing. Clean off the old dried grease then lub it up with a caliper grease (high Temp). Reinstall the shaft in reverse order. It should then move freely and the clutch action will return to the smoothly designed Honda 5 SPD it was born to be.
i ahd this problem on all of my crx's. i just changed the cable everytime it happen. i think has something to do with the cable strectching. just replace it with a new one and your problem should be solved.
