The weather couldn't have been better for a mid-Jan weekend. The sun was out, the sky was blue, the air was crisp and the breeze was mild.
A total of 5 R's attend. 1-97, 1-98, 1-00, 2-01. We expected more, however few don't want to drive around 1-1.5hrs to LSIR.
Anyway only 1 R raced out of all of us. Most didn't want to spend that much to race and myself wasn't able to race due to the sound restrictions. I'm sure Austin will testify that my car is way too loud. Way to loud is a mild word actually. Fu@king loud is a better word! I actually had to plug my ears on the ride home due to the resonance in the cabin.
Anyway Austin, myself, and two othe good friends came up in my car and stayed the night in our other house next to Laguna, to later meet up at LSIR on Sunday afternoon. The total amount of cars racing were fair with some pretty good drivers on the track. By far the best part of the race was watching the old RX7's battle it out on the track. Talk about some nice hits and crashes!
On the ride home I gave Austin a taste of my car by pacing a new style Lotus, then giving him slight head start when he took off. I then down shifted to 4th, then 3rd and took off to fly by the Lotus like he was standing still! And that was with 4 people in the car with the truck fill with bads, etc... hahahahah
Anyway here's some pictures:

I have some good video's I took that I'll post once I have a chance to upload the films. I'll post more later, but its late and I want to sleep...

Hahaha.. one of the reasons I moved out here 6 months ago.
Can't believe it's ~60 degrees out during the day. I'm still wondering where the hell winter went. Hahahaha.
It's a FAR FAR cry from Hanover, New Hampshire.

I wish I was there in person...
I live in Cali, but never got the chance to go there... Where's it located to be specific?

Laguna Seca is located in the Monterey Valley by Santa Cruz and Carmel. Also Pebble Beach Golf Course is located about 15-20min from Laguna Seca.

Great pics Mike. Let me know when you get the rest of them up and the address for them. It was great running at the track and I had such a blast. Laguna Seca really is such a great track. It was too bad I was the only Type-R.
I found that our car really does great on the track except once the brakes get hot. But the stock pads, etc. aren't really made for that kind of abuse. New pads, fluid (and probably rotors and calipers) are going to be my next upgrades. I ran on my S-03s and they were great too. While we taking pics after my last run I kept going and feeling the S-03s and they felt super sticky. I also got quite a few compliments on how surprisingly fast the car was and how well the car sounds (The sound was due to the Injen intake). There was a Mustang (an automatic) and a Stealth in my run group that were behind me during one run. Coming onto the front straight I waved them buy figuring they were just going to blow by me, but they didn't. Later on we were talking about it and they didn't have much more speed to get by me. Really the only limiting factors of the day were the driver and some hot brakes. I realize I have much to learn and will be back to do it again whenever I'm around for an event.

Cool pics.
Guess you popped at min 2 1/2 Cs for the NASA HPDE. Ouch $$$
1) How was traffic (Sat?Sun?Both?) Did you take 101?
2) Did you have your dust shields on?
3) Where was passing allowed? Into Andretti only?
I'm wondering about 2) because my GSR with S03s, dust shields on
, R4S pads, Superblue didn't hold up on thunderhill (stock otherwise). Meaning FADE and a scary drive home with a mushy middle pedal
So now it's dust shields off, Panther Plus (and maybe some jury-rigged ducting if I have time this weekend) in a couple weeks at thunderhill.
Why only once per year, NASA/Laguna, why?!

um......NO!
Persoanlly IMO, I only like the JDM headlights with the eyebrows. The profile of the headlights is way too large without them on. This way with the eyebrows the car/headlights have a lower profile which gives it a sleeker look which matches the rest of the lines on the car.
Also everyone and their mom around here has a JDM front. I see at least 1 a day. No one has the eyebrows with a setup like mine, so it makes mine look more unique IMO.
