Default 89 CIVIC, shitty brakes. Advise.

Picked up an 89 civic DX. The brake pedal is super mushy.. I changed the fluid, bled the brakes. No change. the car stops, just horribly. There is a leak at the master cylinder. Do you normally change the booster, or do you have to change the master cylinder??

yes, this would cause mushy brakes... fix it first.

follow the helms directions to test the booster.

rear wheel cylinders (brake drums) are normal cause for mushy brakes too.

You have basically wasted ur time. Your first move should have been changing the MC with a NEW one.
