Wow. Nice find. I've had a couple sets of GAC Hoosiers in the past. They're not as fast as the standard R tire but they don't go off as bad towards the end of a race.

No DOT stamp on these, but you DE guys, snap these up. It's a great find.

Anybody know about how many heat cycles these will last before they're not worth driving on for DEs?

Andrew,

I used to buy them used from some Grand Am teams. Most had 3 heat cycles on them when I bought them and they would usually get me through at least 2-3 weekends (track events not racing).

They used them in Grand Am because the tires can withstand longer periods of heat than the DOT tires we race on. In Grand Am Cup some teams ran them for 2 to 3 hours.

It's only slighly slower than the DOT Hoosiers. At Summit with used GAC tires I was less than a second off the pace of new DOT's.

Regards,

Jon P. Kofod
