Hi all,
I want to let everyone know about our next event at the streets of willow on Friday, January 21. We'll be running the track w/bowl Clockwise. For more info: http://www.redlinetrackevents.com
Anyone gonna come out and join us for our first event in 05?
We are also starting a new time trial event called the Honda/Acura Time Attack!
It covers
88-91 Honda civic/CRX
92-95 civic Hatch
92-95 Civic Coupe
96-00 Civic
90-93 Integra
94-01 Integra
92-2000 Prelude
That is just about everyone in here with a Honda. If there are enough S2k's or NSX's, we will incorporate them as well!
More info on the time trails can be found here!
http://www.redlinetrackevents.com/timeattack.html
Hope to see at least a few of you out there trying your new christmas gifts out on the track!

Both! What we are trying to do is build a system that adds time to your run to equal out the playing field for cars that are not fully prepair so it really just comes down to the driver, not how much money they put into there car!

I'm going to participate in a 2000 prelude sh. Hoping to lower my lap times a little on the 21st going from s03 to azenis. I can't wait for the honda time trial part also; some may have goals of being the fastest raw and/or adjusted, I'll be happy as long as I'm not the slowest of either. hehe
Anyway...
to Chris and others @ Redline for setting up a challenge that will fill my growing competitive appetite.
Lapping days were lacking a little competition to me... except now
edit: I have a question: For $130, does that include receiver use for the whole day or just for the actual 5 laps? Would there be a price discount if I brought my own receiver to use for the event? Thanks

Yes, you'll get timing for the full day, not just for the challenge session.
We have to use only one timing system for the challenge. This ensures consistency for everyone participating. If we use more then one timing system, then there could be problems and it wouldn't be a fair contest. Even if you're timer was only 1/1000 of a sec off our system, it still wouldn't be consistent. You'll still welcome to use your own timing system though, we just couldn't use your times for challenge results.

I believe that you could purchase your own AMB trasponer because I think that is what we are using for our challenge events. They do cost around 300 or so, so the savings would only be there if you ran every challenge event!
I don't we would see a problem if it was a trasponder for the same system!

Hey everyone,
We have to move the Honda/Acura Time Attack to a different track date.
The main reason is because we can't secure an AMB timing system for the January 21 track event. We feel that running the challenge without the AMB timing would not give accurate times for everyone. For those who are unfamiliar with the AMB system, it is a timing system that records lap time directly to a computer. We can then run our handicapping systems to the lap times to be adjusted depending on modifications. Without the AMB system, I don't see how we can provide a fair timing system for all involved in the challenge. I don't want to sacrifice the integrity of this new challenge series, so we decided to postpone the time attack to a future date.
We'll still be running a test run of the Honda/Acura Time Attack at the January 21 event. We'll still run as planed with an extra run session for the time attack participants so we can refine the handicapping system that will applied to the times. We'll use the hot-lap times that we always use at the track so we can get a good idea of what we'll need to do for the real thing. Look at it as a test run so we can run the official challenge properly. We already have a sponsor for the challenge. A-Spec Racing will be proving prizes for Honda and or Acura cars. With the extra time we have now, I hope to have more sponsors involved. If you were planing on driving in the challenge, please still come. We need people so we can test it out. You'll be getting a discounted price, and extra track time to be our ginny pigs.
These are the days available for us to run the first official time attack:
March 5th at California Speedway or May 7 or 8 at Buttonwillow Raceway. We'll have the AMB system for any of these two events.
Is there any one of these two events that you have a preference for?
Let me know if you have any questions, and sorry for the delay, but this will provide for a better and smoother run Honda/Acurra Time Attack with sponsors.
I'm really excited about this challenge series, and I appreciate all your support.
Thanks, Chris.

Coming up later this year!
Coming up later this year!
Well, it looks like Buttonwillow is getting the most votes.
Does everyone pretty much agree that the first Hond/Accura Time Attach will take place
at Buttonwillow in May.
Also, don't forget we'll still running a test for this challenge on January 21. We still need some people for this so we see how our handicapping system works out.

Only one week away. The track will be wide open. Not to many people signed up, so this could be a great track day.
