Default EK OEM Fog Lights

To those who installed the fog lights for a 99-00, when cutting the hole for the fog lights, did you follow the directions? The hole taking a 40mm holesaw and cutting each thumb tack puncture? Not really too fond of cutting into my bumper, and then having it not fit. ANy advice?

i just did mine, i took a sharpie and traced out the 7 points to get an idea, then took a jigsaw and cut around it to get a starting point. then, i put the faceplate fron the outside and then just cut out what was needed.

what we did with my friends was cut a small hole and kept making it bigger until the grey piece fit. noone can see behind it anyways if it's a lopsided rectangle.

personally i wouldn't use anything BUT a dremel for something like that....but then again i use my dremel for everything. if only they would come out with a toothbrush attachment...

just make sure you don't go crazy with it and, like mentioned before, cut out little by little, test fitting it as you go along. if you mark out your path and take your time, it should look great.

Thanks for the advice. Not too skilled with a dremel yet and a dremel can fuxor things up pretty damn badly if you dont know how to use it. I am going to be testfitting every little step. BTW, should I use masking tape to make sure the paint doesn't flake off?

damnit the rain got my fog light connectors on the harness wet. You guys think I should plug it in to the fog lights and reconnect the battery? Or should I use a blow dryer to dry it out a bit first. I was thinking the latter, but if I dont have to...

I think it would be better to have them dry unless you want to blow the fuse or have something else bad happen. Get them fully dry then connect them electricity and water never mix well.

I want to, but my photography skills suck ***. I don't even know if everything is wired right, hopefully it is though. Stupid biatches at the shop who installed my alarm took up all the space under my dash that's why. Also, I have to postpone the install yet again cuz of the dumbass rain.

i did the wholesaw/knife thing like a moron... wish i had a dremmel at the time.

there should be a REALLY thin line on your bumper if its OEM... surrounding the 'drilling points', just cut along that line and u won't go wrong.

dremmel and u will be fine.

EDIT: don't do this while you're doing it... i did this when doing my fogs... http://droq.dyndns.org/d/thumb/index.htm
