Car battery review: Braille auto development racing battery

Ok I'm basically just putting this up for the archives for anyone searching for a battery. I have been running the Braille racing battery( alot of you know Braille racing from their rear wheel drive teggie) for almost a year now, and i love it.
Long story short; a while ago, my old battery took a crap on me, so I searched around for a new battery, preferably something lightweight because I am hardcore into weight reduction. well after much research, I boiled it down to 2 choices, the Braille racing battery, and the Spoon racing battery. in the end, I chose Braille, because it had the same amount of CCA (cold cranking amps) as Spoon, was the same weight (11 lbs), but it was about 80$ cheaper (160$ at IPS racing in Boston MA). Well I am very satisfied with it. The thing is smaller than a bike battery but it still has enough juice to run my accessories, radio, amp, subwoofer and foglights). Also Where I live the temp dips below 30 alot, and the battery still provides enough juice to start the car.
So if you are in the market for a new battery, be sure to take a look at Braille...you wont be dissapointed.......mine has been in my teggie for almost a year now, and is still running strong !!

Are you running the accessories, radio, amp, foglights without running the car?

yah it has enough juice to power everything that I have running; also I thought about moving my battery to the back of the car also, but I drag race my car, and for drag racing, its a good idea to keep the back of the car as light as possible ( for front wheel drive cars)

just a FYI, when your car is running, your battery is getting charged(not supplying the voltage). You Alt is what is powering the car, radio, amp, foglights, etc(when the car is running). By putting a smaller battery (less CCA) you actually put less of a load on your Alt.

i use the nrg cell battery (similar) and have left the dome light and trunk light on all night. Started up just fine. Have left the headlights on also for over a half hour. The key to using these small batteries is to make sure you have good grounds and positive electrical connections. I would recommend an earthing system. I would also recommend if you are worried to get an extra battery and put it next to the other with quick connects or buss bars as you can bolt these directly to the battery post bolt. You can take out one when racing and put it back in when done.
so basically with any of these lightwieght batteries, listening to the radio or having the heater blow w/o the car running would drain the battery enough so the car cannot start?
but something with a smaller load like a dome light or parking light shouldn't drain it THAT much?

no not at all......you can run what ever you want to while the car is running. when the car is OFF, thats when you shouldn't run any accesories. Just to give you an example, when ever i drive around, my radio is on, amp is on, subwoofer is on, headlights are on, blower fan and foglights. and i haven't had any problems yet.

sory had to bring this back form the dead just to give credit where credit is due.....The temp over here in CT has been around 5-15 degrees for the last few weeks and this battery has started for me every time without a problem.
