City Lights....maybe day lights, but i doubt it. Day lights go on when the ignition is turned on.....city lights go on with your parking lights......
I hope you dont have HID's, you'll kill your city lights in a second....BURN, POP

I would think maybe since they are called "city" lights, they would be used in the city, meaning that for urban areas that are well lighted by street lights, you dont need a bright light to see the road, but still should have a light so other motorists see you.
Did that make sense?

no
They are designed for daytime driving, in places like tokyo when people often park along both sides of the street and drive so close you can't se there bumper on a 2 lane ave it's to draw attention to cars that are moving just like daytime running lights

ok...2 reasons for city lights (that Ive been told from my japanese friends):
1) They are to be used in the city, where there are lots of street lights, when you may not actually need full headlights.
2) In some cities in Japan (Toyama, where my friends are) the drivers turn off their main lights when they come to a stop at an intersection. This way, they do not effect the visibility of the driver across the street. When they pass the first car, on the green, they turn their main lights back on.
They are NOT daytime driving lights.
