Default 13:1 H23

I have an H23 88mm bore with a full gude head package. I ordered weisco ultra lights 11:1 and they sent me 11:1 for an H22. So my compression is like 13:1 now, is this workable on pump gas? 93 octane. This motor has every possible bolt on and only a unichip to tune with. It also has clevite bearings and crower rods, so the bottom end is strong. If it works what kind of numbers should I expect?

What is your specific setup? What are the cam specs? What do you have for a header and exhaust?

Me too *giggle*

I bet you can get over 175wtq depending on what the cams are and how good the tune is.

I don't think I am being too outrageous stating that. I have a similar setup all stock and I made 169wtq. So cams and headwork should make more right?

My specific set up includes:
Crane ignition, Nology coil, aem pulley's, fuel rail, cai,B&M fpr,big plug wires DC sports 4-1 header 2.5" mandrel bent, test pipe with thermal dynamics cat back
Quaffe lsd, fidanza 12lb, act stage 2
bullfrog stage 2's .420 lift/421lift, 258 duration ( I can't remember)
bullfrog t.b. (74mm), C.N.C.'d I.M., PNP .05 over with 5 angle valve job
Titanium valve train and retainers with dual spring
Darton sleeves (88mm), weisco ultralights (12.6:1, head milled 2 thousandths so..)
Crower rods, Clevite bearings, balanced crank, cometic head gasket, arp studs, a zex kit but doesn't look good for that thing (for sale) Maybe more I can't remember? Will I run out of injector, they are stock, so is my fuel pump. Not assembled, just been putting the pieces together, should I flat cut my pistons to drop the cr? head package came with a gude spec ecu and I also have a uni chip, but I think I should upgrade.

OK I am sorry I fuxored up the calculation. THe difference in compresison height is .030" between the H23 and H22 pistons. I would reccomend sending them back to Wiseco and get some H23's. But with the following I calculate you will be at 13.1:1CR:

88mm bore
95mm stroke
50cc head
3.25cc dome
.024" Head gasket
piston to deck clearance of -0.018" (out of the hole)

You need to correct that or you might have Piston to head contact at High RPM. You can fly cut the pistons but 0.030" is a lot IMO. Really If you spent $500 on pistons you should get what you paid for. Sorry if I pissed on your campfire.

13:1 is too high, what is the highest you would go? Has anyone ever had their pistons flat cut? or is that just a cheap way to wreck an expensive piston? And is my stock fuel delivery going to be lacking?

i think that with those compression numbers that is pretty much impossible to run on pump gas....thats just my opinion, and just like pirate said, you should get what you paid for, since you already payed so much.

I would only go as high as 12:1CR (with a GOOD tune) since you will likely have to go somewhere where they do not have 93oct, if you intend on spraying then I would only go as high as 11.5.

Your stock fuel pump and rail will be fine for your setup. I don't know about the uni chip so I do not know if you can retune it for larger injectors but at I'd get least OBD1 H22 injectors (345cc/m) to prevent you from going lean up top.

13:1 is fine as long as you have a good tune... big combustion chamber/bore will let you do that.
