Stock K20A is getting close to 10 second 1/4 mile in a drag car
Honda tech user Hondog posted
Today I managed to punt my Stock JDM powered K20 EG down to an 11.84 @ 112mph I did a 4 back to back 11.8's so I'm pretty happy...
The motor is stock, with a few bolt-ons... I run a modified RSX-S header, which I am looking at upgrading with a DTR header in the near future... I run Toda VTC killer cam gears, a LINK PLUS standalone ECU and TWM ITB's...
It was a good day, but being the start of our season the track was a little slippery still, as I only managed to cut a high 1.6 60ft... but hey there is always next time..

92 EG DRAG CIVIC, 11.84 @ 112mph
here are some pics of the car

PICTURE BEFORE THE ITBS!! Now the K20A has ITBS

Some of you might think that 0.8 seconds is nowhere close to "breaking 10s." but you have to understand that this is an amateur drag racer, not backed up by a major sponsor and R&D of an industry leader....
Also the header he is using is homemade and was not made for the car.... RSX headers are very restrictive in my opinion. That is why we are seeing Civics and RSX cars with the same setups but different headers being apart in power produced... Basically, with a nice header and some more tuning, I believe he can do it.
He is not using hondata K pro.. Instead he is using something kind of similar..
Hondata owners are from New Zealand and actually used to race against the people that are behind the LINK PLUS standalone ECU .
What a small world

No he has them on. That is what was used for the 11.8 sec 1/4 mile.
He just don't have a current pic of the ITBS. I wil edit my post now.

Since when are Standalone's and ITB's considered Bolt-ons? I thought bolts ons were I/H/E
But with a stock block and head I do say that's impressive!

I have a big car show to do this weekend and dont really want a heap of pics of under the bonnet getting out onto the local forums.. So I will send some pics through to Nikos early next week and we will update the posts...
I will probably be back at the track around the 11 of December and hopefully being better weather by then I will lower my ET and 60fts closer to an 11.4 before getting hold of a new header..
I was chatting with DTRFAB
about a few minor changes I can make to help my car hook up faster... and will be making the changes early next week....

nice set up...I wanted to show you some links on a way to possibly make more power.
see https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=663761 <---I have the article that I refer to in this thread. If you would like a fax'd copy PM me your fax # as I stated in the thread a built b16a gained 14 peak whp (dynojet) with no loss in power (hp/tq) throughout the rpm range
also here https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 <-----hmmmmmm TWM ITBs what would you know

No it will not. To remain stock hood you would have to shorten the horns... Then performance would be compromised.... After all, that is not for street....
I believe his car idles at 1700 rpm with the ITBS.... lol

Yes, it is. That is why he just finished installing crower stage 2 3/4, crower vavletrain, etc.. whatever else you can put on the head that is crower.

He also mathed the ITBS with the ports.
So I guess it is STOCK K20A BLOCK
Dyno and 1/4 mile run are coming in 2-3 days. Stay tuned.
Even if not 10s.. we are hoping that it will get pretty damn close.

car just made 40 whp extra with the crower cams and head package...
That is 80whp more from the first dyno stock.
That is almost 270whp on stock block.
The end.
