i have a pioneer deh-p2600 that is XM ready. the thing is i know it is made for the receiver which is more permant that portable. my friend gave me a skyfi and so i would like to use that, but how? is there a cable that goes from the output of the skyfi into the back of the head unit.

ok it looks like i need some kind of modulator. there are two kinds though one is a 4" x 2" box that has 5 wires coming out of it. the other one has a plug for the output and for current and has a cigerret adapter. which one is better and why?

Or you could just get the P-bus auxilliary input adapter and run RCAs from your Skyfi to the Pioneer. Sound much better than the modulator.

You can get the modulator that comes in the yellow box as it also doubles as a power supply or you can hardwire the cigarette adaptor. However, don't chop the plug off, because it has a transformer in the adaptor...the Skyfi runs off of 6volts, not 12v.

thanks for the help, sorry im kinda new to the whole xm thing. so you say that there is something that will run a wire strait from the skyfi to the head? this would make sense to me, i would think it would be more clear. do you know were i can get it or do you have a pic?

i was looking at the p-bus that they had on ebay and i don't understand how it would connect, you would run rca cables from the head to the p-bus but then how does the p-bus connect the the skyfi? it has a patch connector so i don't know how it would work?

if you are going to use the rca cables could you just get the home adapter kit? it looks like it connect the skyfi to the head using rca cables

Check out http://www.xm411.com or http://www.myradiostore.com

There are a lot of people on that board that know their stuff about XM and hooking it up. PM Ziggy, one of the mods on that board. He seems to know his stuff. myradiostore.com sells cables where you could hook up your Skyfi to the CD changer port on the back of your HU (at least for the Alpines they do)
