is it worth putting gsr cams in a b16
do i need to upgrade the valvetrain with ctr's or itr's trying to build a budget car for weekend fun. money kinda tight just bought a new home

you can use your stock ones
edit: ment to say that it is a worthy upgrade if your b16 has auto cams in it.
the profiling on the auto cams is so shitty cause it was ment to be for an auto tranny; power peaks a lot earlier in the powerband( and less power).
1st gen manual cams are NOT the same nor better than gsr ones; they are weaker. Intake cam is superior and on the exhaust mid lobe lift is the same, but the pri/sec. combo are bigger on the gsr.

Here is the low down. If your 1st gen b16 was an automatic, then the cams are very mild due to the automatic gearing, if it was a manual, then the profile will be better than the gsr's. Most of the 1st gen b16's that i have seen were auto's. Either way, don't look for any gains from the butt dyno. If you are looking for measurable performance increase, go with ctr/itr.
