Changed Ignitor to solve starting issues?
Anyone ever changed an ignitor to solve a starting issue? I read all the threads here and it seems like a lot of members have starting issues but no one ever came back to say "YES changing the ignitor solved the problem."
If changing your ignitor or anything else for-that-matter solved a starting problem you had let us know what the symtoms were. Thank you all.

when my ignitor went out, i decided to purchase an entire aftermarket distributor online, since an entire aftermarket distributor cost just as much as an oem ignitor...
my ignitor died a year after running a digital 6 with an hvc...

Yes, changing the ignitor solved my starting issues.
That was after I changed my main relay, which I thought was the problem.
You can test the ignitor to see if it's good.
Disconnect the blk/yel, grn, yel/grn, and blue wires from the ICM
Turn the ignition switch ON. Check voltage between the blk/yel wire
and the body ground. There should be battery voltage.
If there is no battery voltage, check the blk/yel (yel) wire between the
ignition coil and the ICM.
If there is voltage, then turn the ignition switch on again, and check for
voltage between the green wire and the body ground. There should be
battery voltage.
If there is no battery voltage, check the
-Ignition coil
-green(blue) between the ignition coil and the ICM.
If there is battery voltage, then check the yel/grn wire between the ECM
and the ICM.
Check the blue wire between the tachometer and the ICM.
If all tests are normal, replace the ICM

Thanks I assume the ICM is the ignitor correct? SKDRCR was your car not starting at all or was it hard starting.

It would crank, but not turn over.
