Well it is impossible to affect airflow IN the intercooler since I am assuming he painted the outside of the intercooler
As long as he sprayed a light coat and did not lay on it to heavy then he should be fine
Do you have a pic?

I also wanted to paint my intercooler black, But i heard people said that it will decrease the cooling ability of the intercooler. So is this a fact or it doesnt affect the intercooler at all?

It will affect the efficiency, but not enough to make any drastic changes.

At the same time, why not get some black condensor/radiator paint to increase efficiency? Try to avoid using high heat/ceramic based paints because they are meant to insulate instead of dissipating heat.

tell him to flip the intercooler around and stop trying to ruin it with the insulated paint.

yea i remember in another post painting the intercooler was mentioned and someone said that there are paints that actually enhance the heat transfer effect. The same stuff they use on air conditioning units or something like that. I don't remember the thread though

Why not just get a black stocking?

Easy, removable, and no question if it will affect eficiency or not.

Learn to read or if you don't like doing that data log some air temps and prove your theory.
