yea dont let the photos scare you.. because thats exactly what it does to the thieves.. but it really does go on and off in less than a minute.. i know. i used to sell those. and use one daily.. it leaves thieves to have to tow your car.

and its the only government contracted wheel boot for the past 20 years. so that should also show you how well a product it is. the alpha lock can be disabled very easy.. if you buy one you will see how cheaply the key cylinder is made... and realize the orange boot does not use a key cylinder so there is no way of picking it.. it has to be cut off.

well part of my job is to test security products as this for the government. so i will leave it at that. and drilling is not how to disable it. and its not about drilling the actual key cylinder. its about unlatching it from the body. but if you think its a good product then so be it...

its really gay that we have to worry about our cars getting stolen, and that we have to invest hundreds just to keep someone for taking it...

what also sucks, is that I don't think they are just random hits.... whoever stole that grey hatch knew what they were looking for.... no one deserves that...

i have a removable steering wheel...

thieves definately won't drive my car away...

their only option is to tow, but with that nothing can really stop them from taking your cars...

well the removable steering wheels do help but not much.. try it start your car and drive a couple of feet you will see it doesnt take much to turn and get away.. now if you put your steering wheel to full turn then lock it. that will slow them down, and a plus if you dont have powersteering. but driving away without a steering wheel is just as easy with one. plus you run the risk in getting into an accident and then explaining to your insurance company why you messed with the airbag system. this leads to being dropped, not covered for any damage and then being sued by the other party, and possible jail time under federal guide lines... but if you have nothing to loose then to you...dont mean to preach bro..things happen and i would hate to have your life screwed financially just for having a cool steeringwheel...like i said dont mean to preach :slap me:

Yeah, I had to pay the cops $50 to get one of those orangies off my civic since I parked in a 20 minute zone ( ) all day ( ). For that money they should have thrown in the boot.

i say the best way to prevent thieves from stealing your car is to take all of the wheels off and just go ahead and put it on blocks, whether it is the mall parking lot or school.
then set the alarm.

Im not argueing with you. I am sure the $300 orange one is better, Im just saying the alpha lock isnt a flaky part. how many people do you think can get around it. esepcially when you have a motion sensor on you alarm. its not the last part you have to get buy if stealing a car. its teh first part. and the alarm is going off the whole time.

I don't think you can. Most of the links are under construction. I've been looking into glass protection for about a year or so, and haven't found a source yet. Anyone got any info? I thought 3M or some other big manufacturer made some?

Also, does anyone have any experience with LoJack? I'm sure some people are going to hop on about GPS and GPS alarms, but the LoJack is better suited to my needs; so if anyone has used it, I'd like to hear.
