Default will LS rods fit in d16y8

I searched my *** off, both archived and recent, topics and threads and all that because I know how you guys are flame happy. From what I gathered, you can make them fit but they wont fit directly.

Please help! My friend is giving me his rods free.

You will have to machine the large end of the rod to fit the D series crank journal, and you will have to get a bushing from Crower to reduce the size of the wrist pin hole to accommodate the D series pin. You might have to notch the block, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

hmm, I wonder if its worth all that?

How much would all that machining and bushings cost? And thanks for not giving me a hard time. by the way the plan is to turbo, 7-9 psi but if I use these rods I was hoping for 10 safely. Yes, I know this is the na forum!

If your only pushing 7-8 PSI the stock internals will be fine, even 10 PSI is ok on a stock D series that is in good shape.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Crankdriven &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and you will have to get a bushing from Crower to reduce the size of the wrist pin hole to accommodate the D series pin. </TD></TR></TABLE>

I don't believe you can even do this anymore, they no longer sell them.
