primary o2 not functioning no CEL either, misfire?!?
well my car has been misfiring and we cant find anything wrong.
car specs:
98 dx w/ 00 gsr swap
just basic intake/exhaust
compression test is perfect 225psi avg all around.
fuel pump changed
fuel filter changed
new sparkplugs
new wires
cap rotor are all fine
its not a valve problem.
only thing fishy we found is that we werent geting any response when we tried to read the primary o2 sensor. everything is appears to be hooked up fine and no CEL for it either?
oh yeah it gave us this weird p1399 code my buddy says its a dealer code? wth does that mean?
any suggestions this is driving me nutts.

In this case I would have to say that you should find someone with a scan tool, or a scope. And see what's up with your o2 see if it's cycling right.
Also you could try to just unplug the o2 and see if it does the same thing, it will just trow the car in the limp mode.

we were using a scan tool. the primary o2 wasnt geting any type of readings what so ever. the secondary seemed to of been working fine.
the problem still hasnt been solved just yet.
my question is if the o2 is bad shouldnt it throw a code? and also could this be causing my misfire??

bump....
one question yes or no...
is it possibly my primary o2 is stuck in some kind of lean mode where it is dumping more fuel into my engine causing it to misfire???
all this did start happening when a man hole hit my header no damage though.

Usually when O2 has gone wrong it should still read something, unless you ripped the wire out. But it should throw a code I guess. weird, check and see if your signal wire is good.
