Default Oct. 15-17 AZ Region NASA @ PIR

Well I guess I'll start it this month, it's 2 weeks out and I JUST put my car back in the shop for the few changes it needs. I'm looking forward to this 3 day event. It's been a blast coming up through the DE's with all the other guys out there. Can't wait to see you all back out!!

Post up if you're going to be there

Justin

I'll be there on Sat and Sun even if I have to push it on the trailer around the track. There's no way I'll make Friday because of work.

Sorry guys, the lonely H3 gsr and I will not be able to make it out this time. The good news is that my brother, my father and I will be at Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca in Monterey for the final Speed world challenge race. I've always wanted to see these cars in action so I'm taking my family to the race as a belated father's day gift. My father is a great photographer so I'll have a few (hunderd) pictures to share at the event in November.

I'll be there all three days.

Only with a final drive though. LSD is on back-order until the end of November now.

Friday only for me, but I'd like to do Sat., too, if they had a deal on it. I really don't care for the ASRA-cancer these restructured events have. There was WAY to much ******* traffic at FIR. And $10 for a passenger? Eat ****, y0!

When are we all gonna roll deep to Streets of Willow?

Hey Dylan, that attitude doesn't help...

Mando, the status of AMP is still in limbo, most likely won't know anything for certain until after the first of the year.

You know what? I kind of expect more out of my $130 than what I got. I don't appreciate the subpar organization and having such a mismatched assortment of cars on the track at once. I really dislike having the ******** race drivers out there driving like their bullshit series is the F1 ******* championship. Several times one of those ******** in an M3 nearly ran me off the track while trying to pass in a NO PASSING zone during and HPDE session.

I was skeptical as soon as it was announced that they were totally changing the date, location and structure of the Sept. event. Although I did have fun, it could of been that much better had the event been run as planned and as we paid for...

Maybe I should start letting you type all my posts if you're gonna get worked up over them. And if pointing out the obvious doesn't help, then please enlighten me as to what will. Short of running these things, there's nothing I can do but throw money at the organizers and hope for the best...

I thought I was the only one who had this problem. The damn m3 driver was trying to pass me on every turn during a damn hpde 1 session. And to top it off this kid almost messed up on every turn by carrying to much speed to the point where he had to lock up the brakes just to stay on the track.

Later I found out the M3 was actually his older brothers. This kid was no experienced with the car and didn't know the limits of it. On every turn when I would slow down to make the turn correctly he would speed up and try to ride my ***. On the straights he would fly by me, but on the first turn I was pinned right on his bumper.

The event was fun thou, and there was another porche out there older model who could not drive worth of **** he was all over the track. Left, right, left. Going into the turns he was no where near the lines. He would almost spin out on every turn trying to drive his car.

This next event on Oct. 15-17 is it a NASA member only or ASRA member and NASA member event?

Oh well the track looks fun, but any cautious areas a beginner should know about?

Sounds more like you are the one getting worked up Dylan, I only said that because I feel it would be more productive to email Joe or Ralph and and express your concerns with them rather than slinging mud over the internet. This new setup is definately not without it's glitches, and in time they will be worked out. That last event was mainly ASRA's, NASA was playing it by ear for that one. This next event I'm sure things will be somewhat changed, and I've already spoken to Joe about the 10 dollar ridealong fee. So just please, when it comes to something like this, think before you type, I don't want some potential new driver to get scared because of one or two isolated incedents.

I will be out there on Sunday for sure, maybe Saturday too. We will have to see.

Beginners should be wary of the NASCAR turn. My first session at PIR I was terrified in the thing, now I think of it as some of the most fun you can have in a car. Full throttle, car pushing up the bank, track flattens just as the straight opens and all that energy is released down the front straight. Brush the brakes, enter the infield...... great track. I hope I can be there both days.

Hey if you guys ever have trouble with someone out on the track make sure you really let someone know about it. As a beginner this is important not to be shy about that kind of thing. People who are pushing too hard in the wrong classes are asking for trouble. You need to head it off before it happens. I remember one of my first days out at AMP and a guy in an SL55 Merc, almost killed us all in turn 4.

I would have a bunch of people lined up to take rides to gain interest if it wasnt for the ride along fee. What is the word on it?

There was one ******* that did the same to me, passed me up when I wasnt expecting it at all at FIR and freaked me the hell out. Never the less I gave him the finger and that dipshit was blackflagged. I believe it was a guy in a silver race-group Porsche.

I'd like to get a ride along with an instructor at PIR if thats at all possible. Didnt get to do that at FIR, but I had a couple at AMP back in January, that was fun.
