You mean kg/mm to lbs/ft

1 kg = 2.2 lbs

this is something i've never really understood....
lbs == unit of force
kg == unit of mass
force != mass
so how do you convert the two?

Well, if we were to use "Newtons" and "slugs" we'd really have things looking "off".

That's just how it is in "conventional practice". HTH

lbs. is a unit of mass

We really should go metric, but we're all just too damn lazy.

lbs. is a unit of mass

A lb is the english unit for force. A slug is the english unit for mass (then there's the pound-mass, the evils of which are briefly discussed here).
Anyway, I don't think I could argue the point further. I'm sure it's similar to the way people in other parts of the world give their weight in kg - to say someone "weighs" X kg's is to say that their weight on earth gives them a mass of X kg's.

LoL sorry I mispoke wut I was trying to get at , you are correct.
I agree. It's wrongfully adopted terms that just cause confusion

sackdz - who is a lazy american willing to adopt to metric if only all would follow suit.
