can a p2e ecu run a obd2 b18?
as title states, i want to swap a obd2 ls motor/trans into my 96 dx hatch,but have to worry about obd2 scan tests for emmissions. can i use my stock ecu?

Your best bet is if you are worried about emissions and all, find an obd2a LS ecu. at least the Scan port will be functional.

yeah the motor will throw some flags up, but i wouldnt see why he wouldnt pass emissions. if its a stock motor/trans going in, as long as theres no CEL and the port can be read, it would be like he has a stock integra

im a state inspector. just dont want to have a different vin# showing up. when i read readiness codes. ive already been warned once by the state.

VIN showing up from the ecu? i dont think its a great idea to run a stock dx ecu with an LS swap. you got to remember timing maps and fuel mappings are for a single cam. not only that, the injectors from a dx are 190cc so stepping up to an ls with the 240cc you are going to run rich, and if you run the 190cc with the LS swap, you run the risk of grenading your motor. just my .02 cents here. Also, even with proper paperwork you would have issues?
