Got the thrans. with a trade and found out the main shaft bearing was bad so I tore it down to replace it today and got another suprise. Here are some pics. Not the best but you can see what I am working with. Is this thing worth fixing? What will happen if I just install it like this? All of the other parts/gears look good. Its the differential gears.

I'd think about a MFactory unit at that price, I've given up on OBX.

Im just trying to fix it and sell it. I won't get my money back if I go with an LSD or a new OEM part. Might try to find a used one just to get it out of here.

I have no use for it. I have a D16Y7 in my hatch. Not gonna mess with B seires anymore, I will swap a K in when its time.

Found one for 80 shipped....Sound resonable? Don't know if it matters but this one is coming from a GSR.
thats strange, i just replaced my buddies broken gsr diff with a ls diff and used the gsr ring gear and it has no problems whatsoever hmmm..
broken gsr diff has a snap ring stuck in it so the axle would pop out all the time finally he said [freak]it replace my diff

actually im sorry, it was a b16 diff, i kept the ls diff in my tranny...
it was a 99-00 si tranny, i took the mainshaft and kept the ls countershaft so i could use the b16 gears with ls final drive and kept it together with the diff, we put the b16 tranny into the gsr case....
that or theres something else going on because i went to put the b16 diff in with ring gear and it wouldnt fit, so i put on the gsr ring gear to the b16 diff and everything lined up and worked fine
