another car wont start thread
so whats up guys. i got a 93 coupe ex with stock motor. so i was driving down the block and the motor just died on me. the fuel pump isnt priming and im not getting fuel or spark. i already replaced the fuel pump, main relay, and ignitor in the distributor. i have no idea what to do next. any help would be appreciated. and i have done a search but with no luck. oh and ive checked all my fuses and they are all good as well.
the belt is fine cuz the rotor in the dizzy is spinning, and the timing was on perfect. i have no idea what to do. my pump still not turning on. can i take the ecu and dizzy from a 95 civic sedan to see if i can get it to start? or is that a no go?
*IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY* you should be able to use the ecu and dizzy from a 95 sedan as long as:
- for ECU both cars must have the same type of transmission.
- for the dizzy both engines must be from the d-series family.
Did you check:
- UNDERHOOD fuses?
- Ignition Coil
- ACG Fuse (check it again, heck replace it if u have a replacement on hand)
I'm in a very similar issue as you. My 92 DX Sedan won't start either after having been running all morning. My fuel pump does prime however from what I can hear and my fuel line is under pressure...
So yeah what makes yours so strange is ur missing both fuel and spark which to me points to an electrical problem since both require electricity to work... hmm....

word. ill make sure and try and hook it up tomorrow. but yea no fuel or spark. my pump doesnt prime either. yea ive checked all the fuses. in car and underhood. if i cant get spark will the ecu tell the fuel pump not to turn on?
if you loss fuel and spark at the same time. Check the all the fuses. Or try checking your ignition switch, it controls both fuel and spark. Do you even have power? maybe your battery came loose. does your car crank still?

yea ive checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood. but i havent checked the ignition switch. would that control the fuel pump somehow not to come on? and yes it still cranks
so i figured out what the problem was. my ecu was fried.i put in a new dizzy and i swapped out the ecu from my 95 sedan and it fired but was idling very bad. could that be because it was using the ecu from the sedan? and also is there a way to wrap or protect the ecu from water?
so i got a new ecu and its runnin good. the Purple People Eater is back alive minus the idle. idles up a down between 900 and like 1400. anyone got any ideas as to what it is?
