JDM H22 Backfiring!?
Ok after all the problems we've been having, we've noticed the H is backfiring when off throttle transition occurs. The more load that is put on the engine the worse it is. Its not so much of a backfire as a loud popping.
Compression was 250 across.
Spark plugs are golden brown, MAYBE a TAD on the rich side, but nothing serious.
Valves were adjusted a week ago.
1. Leaking exhaust valves?
2. Rich?
3. Restricted exhaust after header?
4. ??????? I'm lost
AEM Hybrid Intake
LoveFab 4-2-1 Header True 2.5"
2.5" ITR Cat
2.5" exhaust
Timing set at 15d btdc
Completely stock other than that running P13 ecu.
I know this cannot be good so somone please please help us out. I'm so lost on this god damn engiine. To the point of wishing we would have kept the peice B16a.
Happens when the throttle is closed (when you are in it, doesn't really matter how much and let off the throttle). The more load its put under right before the throttle is closed the worse it is. If you are lightly on the throttle let of and touch the throttle again it does it every time.
We would have Hondata friday but good ol' peice of **** lying dousch bag Adrennaline Motorsports out of STL [freak]ing lied to us, so now we have to wait on our HOPEFULLY GOOD ecu to come back and send it somewhere that actually knows what the hell they are doing.
ANYONE?!
