Default A6 Dizzy on Y7 head

I searched high and low for an answer, nothing definite about the functionality, only confirmations that it does indeed bolt onto the head, which I already determined.

I ran into some issues. Again, this is in my build thread but nobody reads that. I threw a D16Y7 in the hatch yesterday, and was happy when the A6 distributor bolted right into place on the head.

However, I can't get the car to start, and after checking everything I can imagine it came down to timing. My cam to crank timing is good, but I don't think I'm getting spark/fuel at the correct time.

Further, as you hopefully can see in the pictures, the a6 and y7 dizzys are only similar in their mounting frames.

Here's the body's matched up, and the cam keys on both are vertical. The mounting points don't match, and niether does the rotor.

Same thing, from the back

Mounting points and cam keys lined up, bodys much different.

My question is, where do I go from here? Is this correct, should work? Seems unlikely. Or, do I have to do the trick for a6 dizzy to z6 head?

OBD-0 A6 dizzy with #1 at TDC compression stroke.

OBD-2 Y7 dizzy with #1 at TDC compression stroke.

The rotors are in different positions, I don't think any adjustment is going to set that straight... I'm pretty well lost.

This sounds silly, so don't hate me forever but why don't you just rotate the spark plug wires 90 degrees per their position on the distributor cap?

Link to said build thread that no one reads so I can be a no one.

My name's Dan, I'm a dumbass

Just figured that out after I posted this. I feel really retarded.

Build thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1851160

I got it to fire after I fixed that, and the engine turned over once and let out a loud loud bang, and quit. Looks like I have bigger problems now.

It worked, but something else was messed up that I must have missed when I opened it up and inspected.

My y7 wires were too short, so I didn't put em in the right spots on the a6 dizzy. Stupid mistake. Fixed it and the car started, but then something else broke, bad. Almost makes me think dropped valve
