Cheapest Tire
Can anyone recommend the cheapest, crappiest tire they would even consider putting on their S2000 for daily driving. Keep in mind I have never been to a race track nor desire to go. Right now I have Yokohama YK520 225/50R16' s. I just replaced one last week and now the car is pulling to the left so I guess I have to get another one. Sh*t cost me like $175 for one
. Now I gotta plop down some more scratch to get another one
. I need the cheapest tire recommendations for daily driving for future reference, because honestly, I'm the most unlucky bastard on the face of this planet when it comes to tires. I usually get nails in one of my tires literally like bi-monthly. If I'm going to be replacing them all the time(which I will, trust me) I'm gonna need to know the cheapest brand seeing as now I have to replace them as a set
. I don't even care if they cost $8 bucks and a pouch of beans, just let me know. Thanks

What does that have to do with anything? How is $175 for a 16'' tire cheap? The OP got ripped off.

...where the freak are you buying your tires from? Joes house of I'll rip you off? You can get decent tires for cheap. Look into the BFG GForce Sports. Buy it from a place like Costco (cheapest), Discount tire, Just tires, etc...and they come with lifetime flat repairs and a road hazard warranty. If you buy thru just tire or discount tire, you can even get a full replacement warranty.
Your tire isn't garbage after you get a nail. Get it repaired. I work at a tire shop. We repair tires all the time and they're as good as they were before they got the nail in them. We get a lot of people coming in and trying to replace their tire just because of a nail. You're throwing away money.
Since you live in texas, you dont need an all season tire. Summer tires are usually cheaper than their all season counterparts. The GForce Sport can be had for around $450-500 per set. They last for EVER, and grip very well. There is also the Hankook RS2 Z212. They wont last long, but they're cheaper. Around $400 for the set from discounttiredirect.com. Discount tire will match prices...even if they're matching their OWN website.
GO TO A PLACE THAT OFFERS LIFETIME FLAT REPAIRS AND A ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY WITH THE PRICE OF THE TIRE. You can also search for places that will have you buy a full replacement warranty for some additional $$$.
Have you ever considered getting the car aligned? Maybe it's pulling because you had a previous issue and the old tire just wore into a certain pattern. Maybe the new tire has a radial pull in it that can be cured by flipping it to the other side.
Stop getting ripped off.

im telling you man, your going to be dissapointed.
i dont track my car either...just daily driving with no burnouts or drifting. The tires wore out so fast, and my buddy bought some too and his wore just as fast. I paid 180 a piece for my backs (255 35 18) and will never buy kumho's again
s@ntos was talking about federal 595's or something and said they are a great tire....when i looked up the price for my back tires, it was only 130 a tire. Those are what im getting next

Wearing out evenly does not mean that the car is aligned properly. If you had excessive equal toe in, for example, the tires would wear out very fast but evenly. I once got a mileage warranty on tires because they wore out in 2 weeks COMPLETELY evenly. I had a freaking huge toe in issue on the car. I knew...the tire shop didn't.
The S2000 has a ginormous amount of rear toe in from the factory, though. It could be called the cookie monster...but then it'd have to eat cookies instead of tires.
If the alignment shop went too far on the toe specs, you could definately wear tires out MUCH faster than intended. Although 10k for an S2000 isn't too far off if you have a soft tire.
Also...UTQG tire wear ratings can only be compared for tires of the same brand. A michelin 420 is TOTALLY different than a bridgestone 420. They all use a different scale. Just an FYI.
So it's just a stupid arbitrary number unless you've only bought ONE brand of tires and you're comparing within the brand.

lol so then it hasn't been aligned. You check toe first usually...then camber. Not with your eye, but with an alignment rack. Camber isn't really a major wearing angle anyway. Toe is.
The S2000 is a weird exception. neg camber on the back can wear tires because of the big factory toe setting. Have the alignment actually checked and done. You can't blame the tire for mechanical faults on your car itself. Your Kumhos may have lasted twice as long if the toe was right.
If you haven't checked the toe, you haven't checked the alignment.
That's like saying "yeah, I got a tuxedo fitted...but I never had them measure my waist....but the pant leg length LOOKS like it's ok though"
