Default New acquisition for rr

Hello everyone, just want to share my with you guys. I live in Guatemala City and I've sold my JDM DC2 race car and bought a DC5 for this season, the car should be here in the end of March from Japan. I'll be doing some weight reduction, and some race preparations, like changing the rear trunk with a cf trunk, the seat, steering wheel, etc etc. When I bought the car, the japanese agent told me according to the car's information sheet that is has Mugen rollcage, cf hood, aftermarket wing, aftermarket suspension, aftermarket LSD, Recaro bucket seat, Black Racing wheels. Seems like the car was used for some racing

Can't wait to receive the car...

Here're some pics of the car in the Yokohama yard and some of the stuffs that I already bought for the car... and one of my previous car

Got a good offer for my ex-DC2 and always liked the DC5. Did raced the DC2 for 3 years and is always good to try new platforms.

I know that DC5 have pros and cons compare to the DC2, DC5 have better engine, brakes and body, but worst suspension type and heavier weight than a DC2, but we'll see how the car handles...

cheers

Only comment: be prepared for that Personal steering wheel to bend if you're rough with it. Not kidding

Very nice!

Will you be racing with Fucundo Casse?

If we can be of any help, let me know, or contact our Distributor, Eduardo. Tell him Kiwi said to look after you...

Nice purchase. Looks like the car is all ready to go already. I would keep the sparco steering wheel/hub/release and recaro seat the way it is but that's just me. That's a bad OMP seat though! Nice stuff here.

I too am interested in the costs of purchasing and shipping a car like this.

I'm not sure I'd trust teh Omni quick release in holding the wheel though. The hex screws have been known to get loose on the NRG ones so maybe some thread lock would help.

Is that a bolt-in/weld-in cage? Alittle of both?

Any videos of you behind the wheel of the dc2? Be sure to get some of teh DC5!!

Hello, I bought the Omni QR for the DC2 and never put it, so I'll see if the QR from the DC5 is better o not. And I always wanted a seat with head restraint and like more a seat with FIA homologation

I think this Mugen rollcage is a 12 pts bolt-in cage...

Here's a video summary from the 2007 Season when I raced my ex DC2 (#27)...

ah yes, homologation.

12-pt bolt-in is unheard of for me. And to make it a mugen 12-pt bolt-in is even weirder. I'd think a compnay like mugen only would weld in their cages. Learn somethign new everyday.

Thanks for the vid! It was a good watch, lots of action in that series and you always seem to place first in the dc2 beating the vw guys. Looking forward to see how the dc5 performs.

Well really don't know exactly which rollcage is, checking in Kingmotorsports website there's 2 types of Mugen rollcage for DC5, 7 pts and 12 pts, I though is the 12 pts because has the door X bar, rear lower bar, etc. And just have see it in pics it has bolts but is a "through-dash" cage... I'll tell you exactly when I receive the car

cheers
