Would you buy!!!??? 2006 ninja 500r for $1000 cash?
long story short...
my buddy works at a toyota dealership in sacramento ca, and a customer wants to trade in a green 2006 ninja 500r for some value. My buddy told him that they dont take bikes in but that he knows someone who might buy it. so he called me....
not my style but ****!!!!
$1000 for this is a steal isnt it? should i just buy it to ride it and resell it for double?
advice and opinions please. i just want a second opinion. im too tempted.

meh.. its not that great of a bike. sounds like poop and doesnt really impress me that much with the looks. 1000$ is a good deal, but I'd put that money towards something more of my style. You COULD always re-sell it.
so then i shouldn't even bother with it then?
ok, i needed to hear that. I am just SOOO tempted because my first bike was a 86' 250 rebel. i figured that i rather ride this, than nothing at all. I just don't wanna rush into it though.
also, i know i could resell it for 2000 probably. especially since it's a 2006. but the hassle probably just won't be worth it will it? Also, i have about $3000 in the bank. should just save it huh? and get somethin better.

You can take the risk and spend 1g and plan on reselling it for 3gs in a few months. I say go look at the bike, make sure it's legit and not all banged up (and has good tires, chain, brakes, ect). Offer the guy $750, and if he says no, give him the 1000. Then take it home and put it up for sale immediately in your local classifieds, for ~$3500. Ride it around until you get an offer you like (~3gs).
If it were me, and I didn't have a current project or bike, I'd go look at it and buy it probably as long as the bike was clean. The blue book trade in value is 2500, and the retail is 3600. Seems like easy money to me, assuming the bike is clean. Plus, you get a bike to ride around until it sells

Does it have a clear title? That was my only worry when I saw how cheap it was.
