Default auto to manual? important

first off i have been searching and found some info and i also know i should just buy a rsx-s but where i live there is no real chance of finding a rsx(manual) or even a rsx-s. so i have been researching and i had a couple of questions?
i have got i think parts to a conversion list from slub rsx or here not for sure:
-"1. Shifter and Shifter box
2. Shift Cables
3. Center Console without shift boot
4. Slave Cylinder and Clutch master cylinder and lines for both
5. Transmission mounts and Front and Rear Engine Mounts
6. Pedal set/box (gas, brake, clutch) with clutch reservoir
7. Manual 02 RSX ECU (used- if not over $100... Just one to send
to Hondata)
8. Shifter Cable Capture Clips
9. Hard Pipe to Slave Cylinder
10. Slav Cylinder Hose
11. Intermediate axle shaft
12. 6 speed hubs

anything else? except axles, shift **** and boot, tranny, clutch, or flywheel?"

and i was just wondering what would i need if i got a rsx-s engine, tranny, ecu, wiring harness?
-i ask this question because most guys that do the conversion keep the same engine.

---a important question i have? i have found type-s clutch, brake(i think you can keep the gas pedal?) pedals and i was wondering if they would fit in a base model. since im going to be using a type-s engine?

-please i would really like some input.

probably much less of a headache to just find a type s, the conversion is going to be tough. type s is a much nicer car to...i had an automatic mustang gt once and i looked into it thats why i reccommend just buying a different car.

i would but because in my location rsxs, integras, are very hard to find. we dont even have a acura dealership and a small honda dealership(thats where i got my rsx from because an old couple wanted a civic or accord or something. there is probably about 7 rsx and maybe 2 or 3 rsx-s they are rare. thats why i wanted to do this conversion. and i think there is something wrong with the transmission any way. it keeps stickying in gears hard to get to stay/ go in to drive some times and it takes the right touch to get the a-m trans to work. i have a group of guys ready to work on this project. i just need a little help making sure i have all the parts for the swap(what manual has that auto does not) and with the engine im not sure what to go with a k24 or k20 or even the k24-k20 frank motor. so even if i got the s i would probably swap the engine out any way, but thank you for your input i would just buy a s but i just cant find one around that would not force me to buy out of state. thanks for your help.

I still think it would be easier and cheaper for you to find a RSX-S at a dealership, even if you had to go all the way to WI, than doing the manual swap. Parts have got to be expensive, not to mention the beer and food you'll have to feed your friends so they will help you.

yea man if i were u i would just take the time it would to do the conversion and save the headache and just travel to get a type s. If you still have payments on ur rsx just wait to pay it off and just travel a little and trade it in for a type s or just sell it and buy a type s. Whats the worst u gotta do take a plane somewhere and drive the car home? Plenty of ppl have done that for a real good deal. My friend even got his s2k shipped from florida to hear in ny.

well another reason why i want to this conversion is because the transmission the rsx is going out or something because it is hard to move through the gears and when i do it is hard to move back. i pop it in to drive and i kind of have to hold it. thats ya instead of geting a new auto trans i could do the conversion to manual because i would not really be able to trade in a kind of broken car for a rsxs.

What a huge waste of time, not to mention that resale will be killed if you do this swap.

I'm all for tranny swaps on older cars (EF, EG, etc) because good manuals are getting hard to find, but RSX-S are easy to find and it's a lot less hassle.

I'd just deal with the auto until you can afford a Type-S. In the meantime an auto RSX tranny should not be that expensive through a junkyard.

from what ive heard if your going from an auto your guna have to cut/modify the firewall for the shifter cables to run

this is because the auto tranny doesnt use shifter cables and therefore there is no place for them to run thru the firewall

anyways thats just what i heard from a buddy, good luck
