will small weld on press plate throw motor out of balance?
i got the supposed stage 4 press plate and clutch and it works fine but when i took it out i noticed the little tab u see in the pic is broke., there is 3 of them and 1 broke off.. so i welded it solid back on to where it went and i also put a lil weld on the other 2 incase they might break later on.. i havent put it back in yet but will doing what i did cause a big balance problem or no?? i dont know what the tab is exactly for but it was there for a reason i guess..
before weld, pic after i weld.. i painted weld white so u can see it better

i guess best way to be sure is take it to a machine shop and see if they can balance it like they would a flywheel....
Thats exactly what happened to my XTD pressure plate except I also broke the facing off and had that piece of that spring in the fingers. I would just get another one to be on the safe side. If I'm not mistaken what you have welded are release springs.
well this is my 2nd one.. i had the stage 3 at first then that broke so i got stage 4 and still broke it.. i dunno im tempted to use it because i only had like 50 mile on it but i dunno if that weld would have a bad effect and if i can get away with welding that part solid like i did
I would call a clutch repair place. I know here in TN a few places said they can replace the springs with heavier ones but I never asked if was the fingers or the other pressure springs like you broke. Nothing is worse then replacing a clutch in a crx trust me I know especially after only 50miles
replacing the clutch is cake .. but i just wanna know if ill be alright runnin this pressure plate or not the way i welded solid all 3 tabs??

Sounds like it's time to change brands. If your set on reusing this pressure plate I would send it to a reputable shop to be rebuilt.

call the place you got it from. I've seen a clutch where the rivots weren't straights, so they would have rubbed the flywheel. Got a new disc shipped out. Then the PP litterally rubbed on the tranny case. Got a new PP.
Some places will work with you if you're experienced, talk to them calmly, and assure them it was installed correctly.

ha , good luck with xtd racing service.. i emailed them the same pics and he was like its probably nothing to worry about and would not do nothing.. its one of them chinese phone ppl that dont know nothing about the product..
im thinkin of trying one of the F1 racing.. stage 4 clutches.. says good up to 325 torque... maybe it will last a bit longer than xtd..
yeah save up and get a good clutch kit. We all learn that lot of the time you get what you pay for and this is one of them. I am going to say the f1 is crap also. I would search them prior to purchasing seeing you have spent prob enough cash to buy an ACT or some other reputile brand
i had a F1 stage 3 b4 and never broke it and it held a good amount of torque on my turbo ls hatch.... the XTD i wont buy again though the press plate sucks..
