Default D16 build w/ D17 internals

Just finished reading an article in HondaTuning magazine. They took a D16A6 and built a High Compression Stroker using D17A7 internals... it was really quite impressive.... 171whp

Just thought id share.

that would be interesting if you see a lot of civics older than 01 doing this. Wonder if a d18 will come out and do the same thing to the d17 as they are doing to the d16.

D17 was the end of the D series. the next low end motors of the honda world are the R series motors.

They have already. The 8th gen. Civic has an R-series engine, in the base model.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead. But I was thinking about stroking a D16A6 like that, with the D17, then putting a z6 head on it. They got 171 outta a non-VTEC. What do you guys think the potential could be? ? ?

It'd be better to ask the guys in the All Motor forum. None of the members in this forum have a D16 in their 2001-2005 Civics.

I'd bet some serious cash there are VERY few parts that interchange from the R to D series.

That is what I believe to be the so called mythical "Super D". Word in the Honda Challenge paddock is that the motor doesnt last long enough to make it of any use.

You haven't been here long enough to be a dick yet. Watch yourself, you can make enemies very quickly.
