Default ctr pistons into my N/A b18c1 build.....

so im planing up on building my engine pretty soon probably 3-4 weeks from now and i want to go allmotor on my gsr engine... so im thinking of putting the ctr pistons... into the gsr block... but i am having doubts about this becuase there are some guys on here that say that they have a lot of trouble with ctr pistons... in a gsr block... problems like vavle to pistons clearense and that its so much compression with that setup that you cant even turn the crank over with your hand? also people sticking 2 3 layer head gasketsso to make one 6 layer..so that there wont be so much compression? i was wondering if anyone has really put ctr pistons in a gsr block with a gsr head... have you had any problems with it? how realiable is it? how much whp did you get out of it? last questions is could you run them on 91 octane with a tune and no problems? please if you can answer these questions that would get my project going fast.. i already have the money to spend but not sure on what pistons to get? oh and what do you guys think about this check out the link..

by the way i am going to put camshafts on the head blox type b cams... not planning on taking it over 8500... what do you guys think about this setup... will it last or no? thanks guys or let me know...

i found out my answer with the compression calcutlator... piston to deck heigh will be.. .006 which means problems with vavle clearence.. im not going to do that setup i rather just go with the jdm p73 piston... good comp ratio and enough clearence for my vavle to get out of the way.. thanks anyways guys.. and if you still want to post go ahead i will still be checking it out for some info..

[QUOTE=IUsedAll25charactersFTMFW]

its been done many many times. and if youre so worried about it that you want to put 19 headgaskets on it, why dont you just use P30 pistons or P73J?

it takes even a rhesus monkey about 12 minutes to

1. search to see how many people have put PCT pistons in a gsr motor
2. figure out that there are other pistons with a little less dome, but still more than a P72 piston.

so if you cant figure that out in say....3-5 seconds...what the hell are you doing trying to build a motor in the first place?[/QUOTE

for your information i already figuered it out read.. the thread i will be using the p73 instead of the pct pistons.. if you dont want to comment on this then dont but why you coming on here.. disrespecting me like i dont know ****... go suck a nut....*******

you can run ctr pistons without any problems.
if your nervous and cut .025 on the intake and exhaust valve reliefs in the pistons

YOu can run CTR pistons on a gsr no problems. I had it on my gs-r and didnt have any pistons to valve clearance issues. (my head was also milled) Compression was high. As for your running it on 91 octane question. I would do some more reasearch on it then. I had 93octane and it was close to its limit.

Also if you do go that route make sure that the car gets tuned by a very good tuner. My setup had skunk2 stage2 cams and a bunch of supporting mods with it. I can PM you the list of my mods if you want. After the tune I made 191whp, and 143lbs of toruque!! The midrange was awesome! I'm looking for the dyno chart i have on my computer. If i find it ill definetely post it up.

I drove my car from washington d.c all the way to orlando on that setup with all stuff that i was moving down here.

I say go for it If you ahve any questions just PM me man.

Good luck

piston slap? HAHAHAHAHA maybe the IN and the arrow -> in the piston are engraved in the gsr head? that tend to happen to noob engine "builders" that don't know how to properly assemble an engine
