hey guys im thinking about going to hyperfest for my first official track day. just wondering who else will be going. and my gf lives like 20 mins from the track so it seems like a good opportunity to finally get started.

ive been on track before, but ive never driven the track. i did a track day at thunderhill in CA for a lotus club a few weeks ago with a buddy of mine but they wouldnt let me run because i had no previous track experience.

NASA has this event open for reg, but its like 320 bucks. it also is a 2 day event.

i was looking at the info for hyperfest and it seems like theres a lot to do there. im just kinda nervous since itll be my first time. i know ill start in HPDE1 but is there anything im missing besides just register, show up early, pass tech and im good to go? or is there more? any pointers for this track? i was looking at the track on summit points website. afaik they are running HPDE's on the main track, and hyperdrives on the shenadoah circuit.

 

I'll be there, instructing. You have the right idea, show up early, unload and get your car ready (empty everything, torque wheels, etc.), and you're all set. You'll go to classroom first, after the driver's meeting, then your instructor will tech your car on grid before your first session. $320 is a pretty normal fee for a 2-day event, just FYI. Don't forget to bring your helmet.

This particular event will be busy, and will have a lot of other stuff going on (drifting, show cars, maybe a band or something at night, and of course, the daisy duke's contest).

I'm not sure why the Lotus Club wouldn't let you run due to no experience; how is anyone supposed to start? Seems pretty silly to me, unless it was an advanced run group or something.

yea they only ran group 2,3,4 i believe. you had to have like 2 previous track days. but its ok.

i know about the other stuff going on. should be a good time.

 

Hyperfest is a very cool event. Here's a video I put together from last year to give you an idea what it's like. It's kinda large (~ 34 MB) so best to save as then watch. The car rolling contest was just awesome to watch.

I'm going to be there spectating, supposedly it's a big deal on the east coast It sounds like a blast.

 

Ill be there with a small group, everyone running HPDE's or instructing...

 

lots of ricers and stunnas on saturday. everything goes back to a normal track day on sunday.

 

i hope to race in H4 if my car is done in time, well see.

oh and Al, ill be looking for you also so we can talk some suspension talk.(its david by the way)

Ill be there instructing (no comp school at hyperfest). Hope to see everyone out there. Its going to be a great weekend as usual.

ITR expo june 11-12 at VIR, then this the next weekend will make for a fun month

I will be at ITR Expo at VIR and then HyperFest also. I heard that HPDE 2 is FULL and HPDE 3 has 2 spots left as of 04/24. Gonna be FUN!

HPDE2 and 3 are both full, and HPDE 1 has a waitlist....registration has only been open for like 10 days.....thats a wow....

my 1.8 bottom end took a ****. bearings. so im lookin for a b16 to throw in (mainly for H2)
