well what can i say ladies and gents...
last night i traded cars with my best friend so that i can take my new bucket seats and my CPF's from my dads house to my place since i cant in the S.

i borrowed his IS300 headed back home and unloaded what i needed, after a decent nights sleep i get a call at 8am roughly that the S2K is "WRECK"
pretty bad from the convo.. well i head down to see what happened... granted im about 90 miles away....

long story short something happened and the *** end went out and hit a parked car then the curn.... ill let the pictures speak for themselfs..
yes my homie knows how to drive RWD and has drivin mine adn others from time to time.
was going about 30-40 mph in second gear...

front fender/bumper

pass side (notice the off center of the rim) A arm snaped and hub and caliper was rotating....

OUCH!!! Sorry for your loss. It saddens me to see such a nice car fowled up.

 

.. the BIG question is, is your insurance gonna cover it or your BF's insurance?

And your buddy was going way over 30-40mph to cause that much damage, so stop kidding yourself.

 

your BF might know how to drive RWD... he still wasnt use to driving an S...

im sure he didnt even think that would happen... i cant even imagine how would i feel/react if i wreck my friends car... he shoulda been extra careful but accident is an accident...

i know exactly how it feels.. been there, done that and it sucks!!!

just close your eyes and think of what color of M3 you gonna get... rofl

 

he's actually taking it harder then i am...
he knows how the S acts he's driven mine and his cousin AP1 so he knows how tail happy they are. i went to the location where it happened and i know theres no way he was going faster then what he told me. the curb is what did all the damage ....

it sucks but oh well im living on im happy he's ok and thats what matters to me. my insurance has already been contacted and they will be checking it out mon/tues and from what i told my agent he stated that it sounds like a total. we shall see what unfolds next

 

knowing my insurance totalled my car and it has less damage then your, so that has to be totalled... i dont know if your insurance is going to cover all the after market part cuz they didnt covered mine.. in my case, they just payed me what was the value of the car stock + option mod which is the hard top... i was able to take out all my mods though and just replace it with OEM parts..

you prolly get around 14k to 15k minus the diductable if they will not cover the after market parts... and maybe around 16k - 17k minus the diductable if they will cover everything..

 

yea i told him about the aftermarket stuff and since i didnt have the "parts" listed under my policey they will only cover what i have reciepts for so i have to dig those up.... i will be pulling the SPG seat and safety21 roll bar out for sure...

if i can get someone with stock AP1's to giev me theres +$ for my JDM's those will go too....

So did you and your buddie HAVE to trade cars? I personally would never trade cars with my friends, unless i was sitting shotgun in my car... but the main reason why I wouldnt trade is "exhibit A". If I need to borrow someones truck, car, more spacious auto, whatever is may be.. I usually offer to buy them dinner, pay for gas, or kick them down some dollars. or all 3, but never trade.

yea i knwo what you mean but he's a brother to me. he lives in Norwalk and im stationed in oxnard. about 80miles and i wasnt going to come right back after making a full trip last night i was gonna meet up with him this afternoon to swap back....

im not sure yet maybe a EVO so that i have more room etc or jsut a beater adn keep building my EJ1......

IMHO, you'd have to be going faster than 30-40 mph in order to rip a wheel and hub off the control arms and CV joint after hitting a parked car and then a curb.

Pull the amp and sub out, remove the roll bar, recaro spg,****....
If someone local has ap1 headlights to trade +$ for my jdm ones ill do that 2.... Along with the oem lip

As far as speed goes I know the location and unless it was the drift king himself he couldn't have been going faster then then what I said.... But I aint trippin..... We are at BJ's having a beer right now....
