How To: Integra aftermarket steering wheel with functional horn
Ok many of you may already know about some of the more famous threads on keeping horn with replacement steering wheels. <FONT COLOR="RED">FOR OBD2 ONLY </FONT>

Now, I followed the second one more closely. The key is the shoe horn, which you can make yourself, or take from early civics, I have one of a 90 civic.
Link 1, makes you take a wire and plug into 2 separate connections. Link 2, which I followed just makes you solder one end of a wire (maybe 8 to 12" long) to the shoe horn, and take the other end of that wire and plug into (and this is where an EG differs from a DC) the main srs harness. I don't really think this is the main srs harness, but I found this, which is one of the group of wires that comes off the SRS tape reel. It is wrapped in black, NO yellow at all, and the plug is kind of clear.
Take the end of clear plug that you see will extend to the firewall. This plug has three slots, plug your shoe horn wire into the middle slot, the corresponding wire for that slot is blue. That's it. If you connect everything and have plugged all your quick release/hub horn wires correctly you should have a fully functional horn.
The Pics:
This wiring is located under the knee panel and it's best to remove the knee protective metal to access the srs main harness(this is the yellow plugs that you see unplugged) and this other harness.





if you notice, in link2 that I provided, the guy plugs the shoe horn wire into a yellow connection w/ six wires, the sixth one is the horn wire. But the dc's yellow connection only has 2 wires, which are not the horn. You have to get it off the clear connection as shown above. Hope this helps some.

I think this is the newer integra. Mine is a 95 and I have to follow the instructions from Weaksauce.
Why? I couldnt find that grey/black plug. No matter how long and how hard I tried looking for it, I just couldnt find it.

I have the same issue. I can't find this plug at all. Can the OP please take a pic of where it plugs in under the dash?

i plugged the wire where u said and my horn dont work. i think i have the same hub as in the pic above. ran the wire with the metal tab touching the back of the wheel down to the connector and nothing. i have a personal steering wheel it has only one place to connect the wire. i also have an extra piece that came with the hub it round and sits where the center horn button sits but i didn't put it in don't know what its for no instructions came with it. any help would be appreciated

I also noticed..I spent a few hours looking for this plug ur talking about when it was in my face the whole time!
On ITR's. It is a 3 slot ONE wire coming out of it. I'm assuming its because Itrs have no cruise control. It is a 1 wire 3 slot connector and is grey not clear! Hope this helps. Good writeup btw.

i have a 95 db8 n i did it with the pen thing n my horn just stays on..help plz..btw i hooked it up 2 da yellow srs plug..thnx

ok on that thread he did something with a clear plug that has 6 pins in it. in my hatchback I have 7 pins in the clear plug on the sterring colum
the only wires that do anything with a multimeter are a green/black wire
blue/yellow wire and a blue wire all other wires do nothing
those three wires are showing 2.40 volts or something like that. does anyone know which one od those wires is the horn wire?

i know its an old thread but heres my problem if any one is willing to help. when i do what is decribe above and hit the horn button i can here the relay click over but no horn sound? i figure im missing a horn ground or somthing or the horn itself is bad. an ideas thanks
