Default new here and need some advice

up guys, i need help choosing cars, i am currently 17 , working at a sushi bar for $16.50 pre hour (been putting in work over there for almost 2 years now) , and driving a F'D up 95 camery . I was wondering if i should buy a type R. But before you tell me that it isn't right for me to get a car that has so much potential in it at such a young age, let me tell u this. if i do get it im not changing a thing to it. Keeping it STOCK and the car's true beauty with it! I ain't goana put a tranformer body kit on it to make optimus prime or megatron jealous or some ish like that. I anit goana race that much either, i've seen too many people get kill over racing, and even if i was goana race, iama race in a legit and legal place. I want this car because its a eye catcher to any ricer on the road with a 93 civic and a F'D up muffler, and plus the ladies like guys with fast cars. The insurance is goana kill me but i dont care, im a good driver with a clean record and a GREAT JOB. If anything i would be fine with having a GSR, but leaning toward type R because of the LSD tranny. And i anit worried about thief cuz they goana taste my 9mm luger, plus iama have a kill switch with gps installed. So what you guys think i should do?

Step 1) Purchase GSR
Step 2) Add Type R badges and Type R wing
Step 3) Tell all your friends it's a real R
Step 4) They'll all believe you because they're ricers with 93 civics and you try to impress them
Step 5) Don't worry about not having an LSD, or specially tuned engine, or hand selected suspension, or added rigidity to the frame, because you bought this car to be an eye catcher, not to enjoy it for what it's made to do.

Well, I was almost feeling your enthusiasm, then you lost me in the end. If you're going to handle your problems by pulling guns on people, then you got another thing coming. No car is worth dying over and no car is worth doing life in prision for. You're 17 and it sounds like you have quite a bit of growing up to do.

Work on your spelling.

Why would you ask us if you should buy a R? You should buy what you want. I too agree that you have alot of growing up to do, buying a type r to be a "Stunna" is wack yo (LOL)! Just because you won't put a body kit and such does not make any bit of difference, in the end what you do to it is your business.

I feel both the GSR and the Type-R are great cars. I believe the only one that can make the choice if you get a GSR or an ITR (Integra Type-R) is you.

Financial possablities aside, you are the one that has to figure out what car is better for you, your needs and wants. My advice is to learn about both cars first before making any purchase. Both cars have good cualities, you just need to decide what better suits you. Unfortunatetly many will buy the car because of the reputation a Type-R has but not because they know what the car is and more importantly what its not.

For example you must realize the type-r is a quick car but it is not faster than other newer cars that are out there, like the Sti, the Evo and other great cars that are faster than the ITR. The ITR however is a real fun car to drive and it has a lot good qualities that can be appreciated better at the track. If you have been reading up on it the ITR has some different upgrades from stock over the GSR that make it better suited for the track aside from its engine. So as mentioned earlier read and inform yourself as much as you can on what kind of car the ITR is. Same thing with the GSR. For example we all know that in the U.S we have no 4 door ITRs and if having 4 doors is something important for you then maybe a GSR has an advantage. The GSR also comes with a sunroof from stock while the ITR doesnt. The more you read about both cars the more you will learn and the more you will begin to realize what car is what you want.

Finally, remember that both the GSR and the ITR can be modded to be quicker cars and both can be modded to be used at the track if any of this matters to you.

SD,

I’m glad you are looking into such a sweet car, here are a couple of things you need to think of before you buy this car. I remember being 16 and seeing the first ITR CW in 1997 and it has been my dream car which become a reality through a bunch of blessing! I got my FB ITR at 24, 8 years later

1) Car payment? Making $16.50 part time I assume and I would figure you on planning not keeping for life right. Car payment is going to be around $270-350 per month depends if you finances it and/or have cash on hand to just buy it!
2) Insurance? At your age and seeing if you have not get any tickets/accidents and/or points, its going to be a lot like $150-250 per month, unless you get one way insurance, but remember if you finance a car they require full coverage and/or your parents can front the name on it.
3) Storage/Parking? Do you have a safe place to keep this car? Like a garage? This car is thief magnate. When you own this car you inherit “fear factor” that any where you park it beside your garage or plain sight it will be stolen, not it might, it will be stolen, if you look through the old posts, you’ll see a ton of relation stolen ITR post 
4) Daily Driver? Yes or No, personally, I don’t drive minds daily and have a second car to cover my other needs, seems you have a old Camery that can do the job.

Just my 2 cents take it for what’s it worth, up yeah it’s up to get one, just make sure you take care of it and can afford it!

ROFLMFAO!!! Please don't get an Integra Type R. You obviously have no idea what you're getting yourself into if you think a kill switch and GPS will protect an ITR in Southern California. Most often, your R would be stripped to the bone by time you even realize it is gone, making that hardcore 9mm yo gun useless for anything other than impressing dip$h!t chix. Plus, being in the bluest of the blue states, you'd spend more time in prison on gun/assault/murder convictions than any Cali car thief. Sad, but true.

really its up to you. i can tell you every ITR own has this on his mind while waking up, pooping, work, school, getting laid

"is my car still parked there, if not who stole it, where could it be, towed, jack, forgot where i parked (that mainly goes for those guys who like to drink)"

plus your age. not to mention i got mine when i was 18 and i didnt know a damn thing about it. thanksto dave_b and the others here for slapping me with sence. 17 still has that party hard thing going. ITR is a big resonablity man. so many want it. so little have it. so little are still clean titles.

if you want one get one no hands no bitches moans complaints its YOUR car. if you think your not ready get a gsr if you love the integra style how it looks get a itr next. pocketbook is going to drain quick though. ITR parts aint cheap.

Unless you have a garage for the car and a second car as a daily driver, I wouldn't even consider it - especially living in CA.

I guess you don't need good grammar or spelling to make a California roll...

i was gonna post something long. but that was just stupid. bottom line. you let the car/vehicle work for you. not you work for the car/vehicle. stick with school and then when you finish. if you can afford it. go buy something better than itr for daily driven car/vehicle. i treat mine like a pos and lots of people tell me its the cleanest itr they have seen. i let the car work for me not me work for the car. it will be a mistake if you do spent your hard earned money on a car/itr that you will slave for month in and month out.

Little off topic, but the only thing the 9mm caliber was good for was to teach thugs, gangsters and rappers about the metric system.
