Default JDM S20 LSD ??'s Q-A

Well I've been checking in with my local JDM Parts/Engine supplier weekly and finally after 6 months of waiting a very new S20 LSD Transmission came in with a D15B. So I bought the tranny to put into my 98 hatch, but I had some questions for some of the tech savvy types who know the tranny.

What kind of fluid do I use? It doesn't appear to have a sealed diff housing so I would assume that the transmission fluid is shared with the diff and if thats the case then I would assume it's a helical type LSD which would use the standard 10W-30 or Honda MTF. I know with Viscous types of diffs they require a much heavier weight oil. I'm also assuming because the Type-R's use Helical LSD that this would be the same. Input???

Also I'm assuming that the Vehicle Speed Sensor is the same between my EK and this S20 so I was going to use the one currently in the transmission. Safe Assumption???

Thanks!

Honda MTF would be a good place to start...I'm an EG/EJ guy, so I don't know about the VSS, sorry.

whats up. i bought the same transmission back in march 2009. it is the same type as a type-r "helical". i used honda mtf and a friction modifier to be safe. lsd additive. it feels like an r bseries tranny in the shifter, very firm and precise. never felt another d like it. nice short gears. i had a d16y7 with a few parts manifold etc. with 8lbs of boost. and a low rpm race to 60 with no more than 4000 rpms i pulled my buddies b16b ctr powered eg6 by a car or two.

p.s. it is very rare never get rid of it like i just did. but my buddy needed it for his 400 hp d series turbo build we are doing

hope this helps
