Nicky still has 26 point lead over Rossi. It was a damned close race, even coming into the last corner it was up for grabs between at least 3 people. The big disappointment of the race for me was Tamada getting taken out. He qualified like 9th but he got as high as third and even battled with Rossi for a little bit (passed, then repassed).

Its the first time in a long time he's been fighting with the lead group, hope he's not hurt and that he can be competitive for the rest of the year.

Looking at the championship Nicky is going to have to win a few of these. Typically he does well at Brno, Laguna of course, and Philip Island. If he can pull out 2 or 3 of those and continue to consistently podium its his for the taking.

 

i just hope he brings the title back to honda.

It was definitely a sick race. Unfortunately my cable cut out with 7 laps left, and I missed Marco's pass on Pedrosa, and Hayden's pass on Pedrosa. Glad to see Nicky on the podium, he was holding the lead for a while and I was hoping that while everyone battled behind him he would make a get away, but the Doctor is siiiiick.

There is so much riding on next weekend's race. The way I see it is this: If Rossi wins Laguna, he will win the championship, if Hayden wins Laguna, he will win the championship. If someone other than those two wins Laguna, it could go either way.

I recorded it on my dvr. I was a bit disappointed that Speed on showed Rossi's interview and didnt show Marco or Nicky.

There were tire marks on Hayden's leathers after that attempt.

Not so much home turf advantage for Hayden and Edwards this year since they redid the hill leading to the corkscrew. Local knowledge has been tossed out the window of the most crucial part of the track where experience cuts down time significantly.

 

Man it was a good race. Rossi had to remind us that he's the best. Kenney Roberts crashing and taking out Tamada was a real shame for both riders. The end of the race was crazy.
