VTEC engages, LOUD, but no power! CTR cams...HELP PLS!
Ok long story short:
I got a obd0 head in an obd1 setup, replaced the dizzy and the vtec sol with obd1 equipment. Vtec engages, really loud, but there is no power gain...
Got car tuned, made 230 on 9psi, power sorta died at the end, put it to 12psi, made 263whp but 263@4800 rpms, then power just plateaud... Gave it 17psi, made 253@4800, and again, plateau across to 8600...
Gutted the catalytic converter, turbo spools 1.5k faster but still feels little to no power gain in vtec, just louder....
Im getting tuned again friday with the gutted cat and i want some input on what could be the cause so i can fix this before tuning; you can definitely hear the kick at 5800 (CTR Cams) but there is no power, just noise...
Car runs fine, no other problems, no CEL's...
HELP

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
do u have a dump tube on ur wastegate? if u do, is it routed under the oil pan? if the wastegate is dumping around the area of the turbine inlet then u will loose HP. the exhuast gasses will get sucked back into the intake and u wont get n e power.
also how much timing are u runing?

turbo is a t3/t04e, .63 ar .57trim, good for way more than what im seeing, 3"
downpipe, 2.5"->3" gutted cat, 3" exhuast
open dump goes straight down on the exhuast side of the turbine, and there is an intake pipe on the inlet that sucks air from the front right tire well so there is no way its recirculating
tuning is damn good i doubt its the tuning;
Cam timing is set to 0/base im not sure what total timing is? i know dizzy timing is at 16*
oh and its not like the turbo is losing steam, when vtec engages (exactly at 5800) power plateaus (sp?)- i would have a dyno chart but the printer at the shop was busted and i had no camera
grr any ideas?

jeeze man, please READ the post before your reply- turbo is NOT too small nor is the exhaust (T3/T4 turbo, 3" all the way back with slight 2.5" reduction at cat)

s200, not sure what timing is in vtec but i think its like total of 18 or something, fairly conservative

yeah both gears are at tdc, if they were off at all wouldnt that be noticeable in just regular driving?

you sure can notice when the cam timing is off a tooth...ur car will drive and sound like ****...im sure honda did that on purpose so if it jumps the sound would change and people would take it
the cam timing on turbotime's motor is pretty much dead on..

i read somewhere someone with a similar problem found the cause to be an exhaust leak, could that really rob all that power? I dont think i have any leaks but at this point im just grabbin straws....

another thing to note: i have an oil filter relocation kit, could this be causing too much volume and not enough pressure issues? The lines for the kit are fairly long, about 6' each, oil pressure @ filter is 35psi idle and 85psi WOT

Re: (turbotime)
exhaust cam looks like its 1 tooth advanced.... take the valvecover off... get it tdc... there is a spot you can put something in there to alight the camshafts... like this picture.. i know its not a vtec head but its the same concept.. ill put 100 bucks the exhaust cam is 1 tooth advanced....
