Default My new project... updates are expected.

I picked up an 00 PY shell today. I'm excited about trying to put it all back together. So I'll probably be purchasing lots of parts. My understanding is that it was stolen and stripped in NY (01) and went through several peoples hands before arriving in my lap. I have the Vin number if anyone wants to claim it as previously theirs.

Wish me luck... it seems my task is great.

Click till your fingers hurt... I'm only throwing in one tag.

Awesome, good luck on the rebuild. What are you going to use the car for when it's finished?

I've found that guys that rebuild R's got the most respect in the ITR forum. To be frank, I just lurked in here for about a year until I was able to buy my shell.

Anyway, best of luck on the rebuild. I thought mine was stripped.

btw, shameless plug, I have a steering column I wouldnt mind selling you... check the sig. has ignition switch with key

which one... my perfect (just got back from the body shop) R #1261 or my naked R? The shell is living at my parents house during the rebuild and #1261 is guarded at my house.

PM me and we'll compare caRs

The shell I got could only be more stripped if someone used acetone.

As far as I can tell, minus a few little dents here and there, the body and chasis looks to be in great condition.

It's in pretty bad shape (body damage).... the frame looks nice and straight. I'm not gonna go to crazy fixing body damage. Figure with my driving history it'll be the best bet.

Francisco @ RPRacing... yes.

It got passed around like a cheap hooker. Naked and bruised it is... a mighty machine it will be one day.

My new phrase that I keep mumbling is "it just needs a little love". I find myself saying it too much.

I've been thinking about a moonroof... it would cut down the amount of sheet metal to make straight. Can you have a track car with body damage and a moonroof? -If so... then I'll have the ugliest car out there.

BTW... "rubbing is racing" watch out MUHAHAHAHA

Wow, yeah, she's stripped. At least the side stickers are still there

Better check the rulebook for what you can and can't do, some leagues/classes require moonroofs to be removed or taped on both sides.

for rebuilding an R! Looks like it'll be alot of work just hunting down parts, but it should be fun too! Good luck and keep us updated with lots of pics!!

I see it as a fresh slate. The one thing I know is that this R will run again. It may take me serious time... but I'll get there. All I have is time and money (not much).

Wow, I think that car is a little too far gone to be fixed. I have seen some nasty builds on this site but this is by far the worst one yet that someone has decided to tackle.

Good luck

Worse case is that I'll turn in into a Type R barbeque grill that I can tow behind my caR to expos.
